Chapter 17- You Found Me
Lauren's POV.
It has been a half hour since I ended up in line to check my on my DNA. After what I told officer Smith, he wanted to know more about what my dad or let's say John meant. He said things about kidnapping and things like that, but he is dead just like my mom, or how I call her now, Katie. Officer Smith told me to get my DNA test and he was busy with John's DNA test. They would use some of his blood and mine and test it. They could proof with our blood if someone was your parent or not.
"Lauren Rivera." A female voice rang through my thoughts and made me look up. A woman around the age of forty called for me. It was my turn so I stood up and walked over to the door she was standing in front. She noticed me and gave me a smile before entering the room. I walk in and take a seat on one of the seats that she told me to sit on. She closed the door behind her and I took my time to look around while she took her time to see for a needle and a small pot to put my blood in. She finally sat down and took my left wrist in her hand. She rolled my sleeves up gave me a smile like she was happy in getting blood out of my body..
"I read that they will use your blood for a DNA test, are you scared?" She asks me.
"More nervous." I admit.
"Why?" She asks me in a understanding tone. She picks up the table from the small table.
"I'm nervous for what I will find out. Maybe my real parents are dead or maybe they don't want me. After all I lived in that house with my so called parents for as long as I remember." I explain.
Before I knew it the needle was already pulled out of my body and the little pot was filled with my blood. I didn't even notice the needle in my arm let alone when the blood was drained out of my arm.
"Whatever the results will be everything will turn out better than it was. I am sure of that and I am sure that your real parents, if the results are negative that is, than they will want you. In your documentary you said that your dad told you he kidnapped you, so they can't be worse than your so called dad." She assured me and it kind of helped me.
"Thank you." I told her as she put a plaster on the area that she pulled the needle out of. It didn't really hurt since she distracted me by asking me questions. I shook her hand and walked out of the room and back to where I left Zayn and his family almost an hour ago.
Safaa didn't come to the hospital since she was playing with Taylor at the Jauregui's when it all happened and it was pretty late already. As I made my way back I saw more people waiting in the waiting room. Clara and Michael were also waiting while Waliyha had already been sleeping on Doniya's lap and Doniya was close to sleeping as well. Her eyes were struggling to stay open. Everyone was tired in the room while I was still terrified about everything and I wouldn't get any sleep until I was sure that Zayn survived and until he opens his eyes. I feel like I am the reason for it and it should have been me that would be shot, not Zayn.
"Is everything okay? You were gone for a really long time." Patricia says as she walks up to me.
If I were she wasn't a nice person I am sure she'd have blamed me for Zayn getting shot. Maybe she does think like that, maybe everyone thinks like that. Because it is true. It is my fault and just like the rest of the world I had to block Zayn out of my life and I had to keep him away from my mess, but instead he got closer and closer to me and saved me.
"I had to tell everything to the officer and I had to take a DNA test." I explained to her.
"Why did you take the DNA test?" Clara asked me. She noticed me in the hallway and made her way quickly towards me. Her husband following behind her.
