Chapter 20- Athazagoraphobia & Thantophobia

Lauren's POV.

"Where are you going?" Taylor asks me as I try to find my notebook in my room.

"Zayn and I have to do this essay about each other and it needs to be finished by tomorrow." I answer without looking at her.

I open my top drawer of my desk and make it a mess as my hand go desperately through my books.

"Is it a date?" She says and without seeing her face-expression I knew that she was giving me the cheesy face that literally said I-know-you-like-him-and-zauren-4-ever.

"It's not." I say defending myself.

Why am I even defending myself, you wonder? Well I don't even know myself. I don't want things to get awkward between Zayn and I. I also read that most high school relationships won't even last long. Besides we are going to college next year, I doubt that we will go to the same one. I want to be close to Zayn, but at the same time I don't want to experience a break-up with Zayn. I've heard a lot about those girls that broke up with him at school and they are jealous, still think that they own him and some even cried for weeks. Not days, I really mean weeks. They'd come in class and when their eye catched Zayn they'd cry and mumble some things before running off to the bathroom.

And I know one thing for sure, I don't wanna be one of those girls.

"Hey! What are thinking about?" Taylor says as she snaps me out of my thoughts. I shake my head awake and see Taylor standing right in front of me.

I had train-thoughts.

"Nothing. I have just a lot of homework to do for school that I was worrying about." I lie.

"You're lying." She says.

"I'm not." I say a little bit too fast.

"You are. Your eyebrows frown when you're lying. Chris has the same lying issue." She says. "Now tell me, you were thinking of Zayn weren't you."

Suddenly the door to my room opens and shows Chris. "Lauren mom and dad just left and I need money to buy some snacks." He says fast. He is in a hurry too.

"Yes, I have." I say turning around to my desk and opening the top drawer again.

"Why is it a mess. I thought that you cleaned up your room yesterday." He says coming closer.

"I did. I lost my notebook and I can't find it." I say holding a hand to my forehead from the stress.

That notebook means a lot to me. My songs are written in it and information to the essay is in it as well.

"I saw it downstairs." He says and relieve washes over me.

"I have been looking for it almost all afternoon." I say letting out a sigh.

I grab one of my books from my top drawer and open a page that reveals twenty bucks. I hand the money over to Chris and he looks kinda surprised.

"You keep your money in your school books?" He asks confused and I nod my head as I don't see the problem in it.

"Most people put it in their purse or something." He argues.

"Well the chance that your purse gets stole is bigger than your schoolbook." I say as I make my way out of my room.

"I don't know when I will be back. I already told mom and dad, don't wait up for me." I shout as I go down the stairs with my bag over my shoulder.
