"Why am I not included in the medic team?" Mingyu demanded for the second time and Jungkook yanked me to his side, followed by a small squeak escaping my mouth.
As a result, Mingyu almost tripped over on air at his failed attempt to reach me and Jungkook snickered at him.
"Because you're only going to bother Haneul if we put you in the same team as her." Nana shooed him away with her hand. "Now go help set up the campsite."
"But they also need help here. What if someone faints and someone has to carry—"
"They have Jungkook," interjected Nana and sighed, now glaring fiercely at the cause of her distress. "Mingyu. Campsite. Now."
Without any complaints, Mingyu marched away to his group. But before that, he sneaked a subtle glare at our organization leader. We all knew that when Nana spoke that way, hell will break loose if you don't comply with her.
"Sorry about him," said Nana, once the coast was clear. "Anyway, I'll check the other groups." She gave us a small smile and left our post shortly.
"Agh," Jungkook grunted playfully, his palm landing on my head, pushing my fringe down. "Noona attracts a lot of people."
I grimaced. If he had specifically mentioned troublesome people, I'd probably agree with him.
"He's actually your friend you know." I shot an eyebrow up to which he responded with a toothy smile. This kid always had hidden agendas behind that innocent face of his.
"Oi, you two! Stop stalling and help us bring the boxes out to the tent," Hira called from behind us.
Exchanging meaningful looks, I nudged Jungkook on the arm and we soon went back to our post.
Today was the first day of the university camping; a yearly event prepared to acquaint people from the different college departments and make them interact through various activities.
Although, not a lot of people found this event interesting. Other students thought it was just a waste of time to join and they should just study instead.
First days were allotted for preparations—the campsite, courses for the activities, materials and the like. For that, members of the volunteer organization were assigned to specific groups, together with other students who joined the university camp.
The day waltz by in a blur with the sky slowly dimming. Which also meant that it was time for the highlight of the first day. Activities might change from year to year, but I'd been told that the first night activity had always been food related. Hence, the grill party.
"Haneul you should try this!" Hira picked the meat on the grill with her chopsticks and shoved it to my face that I had no choice but to open my mouth or else it would smudge all over.
I made a face, munching on the food and she laughed innocently. But given that the meat was savory, I'd let her get away with her actions.
"Waaah, the lights really look nice. Like the ones on those fireworks festivals on anime!" marveled Hira whilst spinning around to admire the campsite.
Compared to me, Hira was a more gregarious person. No arguments with that. So I basically trailed along as she approached some people, striking conversations here and there. I interacted with most of them as well, but not as close as with Hira.
