Chapter 5: Of course I Will, Zuko!
Several days have passed, which have left me to nothing but complete boredom. Do you want to know who found us on the ground the other day? Nope, not Azula. MAI. And she was pissed! She got so man that she ripped Zuko off of me! And that was when she saw my chest! Her eyes go large they looked like they were going to explode! She said, well, more likely yelled, profanities at Zuko. And then what? Well, let's just say that Mai didn't talk to him after that. She was upset. She really misses Zuko, and not in the 'friendship' way. She was envious of me and only wanted him for her. Although, she didn't show it.
Sure Ty Lee would come by every once in a while to train each other, but it would still get lonesome. Zuko would be in a meeting, Mai made up an excuse just to stare at the sky, and there would be no way in heck would I ever hang out with Azula. I still don't like her, and I'm pretty sure everyone knows why, well, except for her father who thinks she's oh-so-perfect.
Dang, I really miss the others. . .
And I can't believe I'm saying this, but I wish Hans was here. He knows how to brighten the mood. Just like Toph. . . Oh, how I miss her the most. Which is really weird because I've actually hung out with her the least. When we finally recruit, me and Toph are gonna be doing a lot of things to bring back our loving friendship to one another.
So apparently, I was outside petting some turtle ducks to keep my mind busy. So far, not working. I was bored out of my mind and no one and nothing was helping. There was practically nothing to do here. I didn't want to train forever and that being the only thing. I wanted to do something else. I wanted to laugh and have fun. Everything here was taking that away from me. There wasn't anything funny. Well dang it!!! I missed Sokka!! Even if he wasn't that funny, he still brought me to smile because of his weird ways that involved him getting hurt or something stupid similar to it.
I wonder when we will all meet up again? Gosh, it's been so long. Oh great, now I'm ranting in my head again. This sure isn't healthy. Well, I was never made for 'healthy' anyways, so who cares? No one does really. I only have two friends here and that's Ty Lee and Zuko, but Ty Lee don't get to hang out every day. This was annoying. I had no other friends, and heck, I was bored and lonely.
Finally, Zuko came back smiling to me. I smiled back. He sat beside me and started to pet a turtle duck with me. Aw, that was so cute! I wanted to take a picture of him right now. Too bad they don't have cameras in this time. . . .
"Hey Zuko," I said.
"Hey, River. I wanna show you something." he smirked. I looked at him curiously. I wonder what it is that he has to show me?
"What is it?" I asked.
"Just come on. I'll show you." he chuckled. I rolled my eyes and got up, following him to wherever he was taking me.
"Is it something stupid, Zuko? I don't wanna be wasting my time. I was in the middle of something." I informed. He slightly chuckled as he rolled his eyes at me.
"You were not even doing anything, River!" He chuckled, "Just come on, it'll be fine. You can go back to the turtle ducks later, I want to show you this."
"All right, you big jerk." I giggled as I continued to follow him. This better be quick. And no, this was not about the turtle ducks, I wanted to get back to my thinking. That was my place where it was quiet and no one came around often unless it was Ty Lee, Zuko, Azula, or even Mai sometimes.
"So, what is it?" I asked as we reached inside the palace. He didn't answer as he only laughed and continued to drag me around the place. I kept asking him the same thing and he only laughed and continued to run. This was getting rather annoying, but I just simply ignored it and started to run with him too.
"We're here," Zuko said with a soft smile plastered on his face. We were in a garden and there was a table there set with candles and delicious looking food. Beautiful flowers were all around it and there was rose petals aligned on the floor. I looked at Zuko and looked at him confused but had a smile on my face.
"Zuko, did you do this all for me?" I asked him.
"Yeah, I thought you might like it since it's a bit boring around here." He said and scratched the back of his head in embarrassment.
"Aw, Zuko! Of course I love it!" I said as I embraced him and inhaled his scent. He smelled amazing. I let go of him and we both sat down at the small table and began to eat the delicious food. We began talking and laughing about things and then it went to personal things.
"So, when did you turn 16?" Zuko asked. I almost chocked on my water from the wine glass when I heard that. Once I relaxed, I sat down the wine glass and thought about what he said. When did I turn sixteen? I remember talking to Hahn about it though. . . . Surely, I am. But, when?
"I guess a long time ago, I can't remember. Everything goes by way too quickly for me to notice, but I know it happened." I said thoughtfully.
"Well, I have a question for you." Zuko said and took something out from under him. He blushed for a moment and then stood up. He then slowly walked over to my side and knelt down on one of his knees. What is he doing? I stared at him confused. Then, he pulled out a gold ring with a fire crystal inside of it. I brought a hand to my mouth and stared at him in shock.
"River, I feel like I've known you my whole life. I feel like you're a part of me. I want you to know how much I'm willing to give to you by simply loving you. So, I want to ask you this one question: will you marry me?" He asked. I felt a tear slip from my left eye. Without any thought, I smiled at him. "Yes or yes?"
"Of course I will, Zuko!" I said and jumped to my feet. He grinned at me and jumped up and picked me up bridal style while spinning around. I giggled at him at how silly he was being. He planted a kiss on my lips and carried me back inside the palace to his room. I can't believe it! I just got engaged with Zuko! What have I just gotten myself into?
I fell asleep with Zuko that night with a smile on my face as I never felt so happy in my life. I can't believe I'm going to marry Zuko, my now fiancee. I'm going to be a wife. I smiled to myself as I snuggled into Zuko.
Holy Saint Francis, I'm getting married!
Yeah, this is a short chapter... but oh well! I hope you guys enjoyed it! Does anyone ship my OC with Zuko? No? ..... okay.
