Chapter 7: Cucumbers

Sokka showed Zuko's room and practically did his worse impression to welcome him to the addition to the team. I giggled all the way through his speech as his face was definitely heated up by me. What's got him so moved up to me? When he was done I walked with through the corridors for him to tell me my room, but he never did. He just kept quiet, which was somethign Sokka never was. Maybe he's sick?

"Uh, Sokka, where's my room?" I asked him as he blushed a little. Why is he blushing? Yeah, there was definitely something wrong with him.

"Uh, I kind of wanted to apologize for earlier when I said those things." He said as he blushed even more. I was confused until I finally got it and realized what he was talking about and bursted out laughing, causing him to blush even more.

"Oh, don't worry about it, Sokka! Of course you're forgiven! You're my best friend, right? What else could their be more of?" I said and he looked down in disappointment. What's wrong with him? Okay, now I'm starting to get worried.

"Oh, that's okay." He said and began to walk away. Hold on, something is up. I caught up with Sokka as he was walking back and grabbed him by the wrist.

"Is there something bugging you? Is there something you need to tell me?" I asked him. I stared at him concerned.

"Actually, I needed to tell you this for a long time now. It's something I felt for a long time, and I never got the chance to tell you." Sokka said. I gave him a look to tell him to go on.

"You can tell me anything, Sokka. I won't be mad. Wait, if you're saying that you're secretly a magical panda, then you can forget it! That's my dream, ya know! Well, one of them." I said. He chuckled at me and grabbed my by my hands as he intertwined them with his. What? Okay, now I'm really confused. Maybe he has gone crazy? Yeah, that would seem likely.

"You're so random, River, you know that? That's just one of the things about you that I like. . ." He said with a cute smile on his face I've never seen before. Wait, what did he just say about me that he liked?

"What are you talking about, Sokka? What's going on with you? What are you saying? Wait - are you sniffing my hair?" I asked.

"Cucumbers," he said suddenly. I looked at him as if he had gone mad. Maybe he had.

"What was that?" I asked confused.

"You always smelled like cucumbers, and I don't know why. You make me so relaxed when I'm near you every time. The first time I met you, that's exactly what you smelled like. And you still do. It's like this natural scent you give off, and I love it. I - I love you." Sokka said and before I knew it --!!

Sokka had his lips on mine, making out with me. I had my hands together with his, so I couldn't get myself free. I was already against a pillar. What. The. Heck.

Sokka was making out with me and so I couldn't pull away. Why did it have to be me? I'm engaged with Zuko! Why couldn't have done it with Suki? Oh wait, she's not in this episode yet.

Once Sokka finally pulled away, he smiled and buried his head in my neck. "I'm so glad you understand," he said. I wanted to tell him. I wanted to tell him everything, but I didn't want to break his heart. His sensitive big heart. That would be cruel to him. Yet, I have to tell him or he would be seriously furious with me. Probably more furious with Zuko than with me.

"Uh, y-yeah." I said as I looked away, for my eyes to meet Zuko's. I gasped and tried to stop him with my arm outstretched, but Zuko just glared at me. I quickly pulled Sokka away and held him by his shoulders. "Sokka, we can talk about this later." I then zoomed off to catch up with Zuko to explain. I ran after him and grabbed him by the elbow, holding him back.
