Chapter 14: Training
The next day, Aang was working on his fire bending skills to get stronger with Zuko. We all decided to quit being lazy and head over to the beach for some relaxation and fun. Katara and I went swimming in the water, well, she was water surfing and I was floating on the waves living up to my name the Lazy River. Everyone else decided to build sand castles and such on the beach.
Then, Zuko started blasting at Aang. I gasped and ran over towards them.
"Zuko, you idiot, stop it!" I yelled after him. They continued the fight toward the beach house, blowing things up and destroying things inside because a switch went off in Zuko's brain for some reason. After a good minute of them fighting, Aang stopped it. We then went on about how Aang was going to stop the Fire Lord after Sozin's comet but now he can't anymore. It was all up to us to help him along the way through this battle.
We decided to put on a stage fight. "In order to take out the fire lord, or in this case, the melon lord, our timing has to be perfect." Sokka instructs. "First, Suki and I will draw his fire, then Katara and Zuko charge in with some liquity hot offense, and while the melon lord is distracted, Aang swoops in and BAM! Delivers the final blow."
"Uh, what about us?" I asked pointing in the direction of Toph and myself.
"For now, you're both the melon lord's forces." Sokka said.
"So I get to chuck flaming rocks at all of you?" Toph asked with a grin.
"Whatever makes the training feels more realistic," Sokka said.
"Sweet!" I said as Toph and I high five. We all got into position. Toph and I got up to the very top of the mountain waiting for our cue.
"Ready, Toph?" I asked with a smirk.
"Oh, yes." Toph grinned. Once it began, we started throwing everything we could. Except the only thing was we were going easy on them. Once Aang wa ready he jumped out and was ready to swing at the melon lord, but he never did it. He stopped before delivering the final blow making us all confused, well, not me. I knew why and understood. I wouldn't want to kill somebody either. That's somebody's blood on their hands.
"What's wrong with you? If this was the real deal, you'd be shot full of lightning right now." Sokka said as he walked up towards him as the rest of us met up with Aang.
"I'm sorry, but it just didn't feel right." Aang said. "I didn't feel like myself."
Sokka then took out his sword and sliced through melon lord's head as it plopped to the ground. "There, that's how it's done."
We all sighed and walked off for dinner, not wanting to talk about it any longer. Suki and Katara had made dinner for everyone and when they finished they let everyone go ahead and eat as Katara went off to look for more bowls inside. As we were finishing up eating, Katara finally came back with a scroll in her hands, and definitely not more bowls.
"I have a surprise for everyone!" She shouted happily.
"I knew it! You did have a secret thing with Haru!" Toph said. I gasped at her with big eyes. Whatttt?
"Oh my gosh, Katara! Seriously?" I said astonishingly. "Mustache boy?"
"Uh, no. I was looking for cooking pots in the attic, and I found this." She said as she unrolled the parchment to a painting of a cute baby.
"Look at baby Zuko! Isn't he cute?" Katara cooed. We all laughed while Zuko seemed pressed. "Oh lighten up, I was just teasing."
"That's not me. It's my father." Zuko said.
