Chapter 3: A Bit Of Fun At The Beach

A couple days have passed as work has been set. I haven't done anything in a while except giving a few orders and hanging out with Zuko and Ty Lee. Azula hasn't been much of a problem either, which really surprises me, and I've been visiting Uncle late at nights.

I've been feeling a little weird lately and I've missed the gang so much that it hurts. I wonder of any one of them will forgive me? Would Katara look at me again? What about the others? I've never felt so alone; I've missed the laughter and the fun with them so much. I don't know what I could do now without them.

I missed Aang. I wonder if he's awake by now? Probably not. I missed Toph. She was so hilarious. Katara, yeah. She hates me, and I could feel it. And Sokka. . . . I never thought I would actually say this, but I really really miss him too. I miss his attempt at failing at trying to make me laugh, and the times we had together. I missed them all so much. The pain was killing me. I missed them. . .

"River, are you alright? You seem a little down today?" Zuko asked, wrapping me in a hug from behind. I only sighed. I rested my head on his shoulder and inhaled his scent. he smelled really nice.

"Just a little tired. I guess I miss my friends and having the fun from them." I stated with a frown on my face. I didn't want to lie to him. . . I tell Zuko everything.

"Guess what?" he questioned with a smirk.

"What is it? Is it something stupid?" I rolled my eyes.

"No, I heard that we we're going to the beach on Ember Island." he stated. I gasped in excitement, pulling away from him and looking into his eyes seriously.

"Are you serious, Zuko? Are we really going to the beach?" I asked, needing the truth.

"Yes," he stated. I squealed in excitement.

"Yay, Sifu Hotman!!" I shouted, running over to find Ty Lee. I ran down the halls and searched everywhere.

"Princess Akari, stop running! You could get hurt!" a maid yelled.

"No worries, I'll be-" I ran into a pole. I groaned, pulling myself away. I rubbed my sore head, walking around like a drunk man, trying to keep my balance.

"Whoa, River! What happened to you?" a heard a girly voice jump from behind me.

"A pole. . . jumped me. . . hard." a said still a bit dizzy.

"Guess what?!" she exclaimed, and I finally got myself together to see Ty Lee in front of me.

"Oh, hey Ty Lee!" I grinned, not seeing her from before.

"We're going to Ember Island together!" I gasped.

"You're going too?" I asked with a hopeful look in my eye.

"Sure am!"

I gave Ty Lee a warm hug then skipped away in excitement to tell Zuko the big news. We are all going together! Yay!!

We were all set for Ember Island that we were staying at. We were on a ship and I was so excited~!

"I'm so excited to be spending the weekend on Ember Island! It's going to be great hanging out on the beach and do nothing." Ty Lee shouted in glee. I grinned.

"Me too, this is going to be so much fun! I can't wait to work on my tan! Mmm lemonade sounds so good right about now!" I exclaimed with a giggle. I was sitting beside Zuko while everyone else was standing.

"I love lemonade!!" Ty Lee exclaimed.

"Doing nothing is a waste of time and we're being sent away on a forced vacation. I feel like a freaking child." Zuko stated angrily.
