Before I get onto the house meeting that ensued once we returned home, I feel I need to explain what Steven's urgency was about. You see, vampires have urges especially when they're hungry. The urge, to attempt to put it delicately, is to dig their teeth into a human. When that urge gets too great, they're unable to control themselves. There is, however, a pill that resolves that issue, designed by some Russian millionaire, over one hundred years ago, who turned numerous scientists into vampires, with the purpose of producing what is now referred to as "The suppressant".

The suppressant allows vampires to go for long periods of hunger, without losing control of themselves. Unfortunately, like most things, it wears off after a while.

Steven left early that morning and in his rush, he had neglected to take his pill, as a result, through his last lesson in class, he started to get some urges and he was ready to get home before he looked to alleviate the urges the wrong way.

Now, back to the house meeting. Mum had decided to call a house meeting. It was obvious what it was about.

'We need to talk about getting another human for meat', she announced,'any ideas?'

'Well, I took a visit to the courts today, but there was no one I felt was worthy of dying for their crimes', dad stated.

'You sure?'

'Excuse me', Sofia interceded, 'I know we've been over this many times, but why can't we just pick up a homeless person?'

Anna looked at Boris who was seated on the arm rest of the sofa chair Vlad was sitting in.

'We have our own rules which we live by and that's not to feed off the innocent. We only chose people who are real criminals'

'Then, why don't we just eat Billy Sullivan?'

'Billy will be kept alive as long as he can. It's important to understand that he doesn't deserve a quick death'.

'Sixteen months isn't quick'

'Look, Billy's off the menu. We need someone else'

This is a good point to introduce Billy Sullivan. Billy was arrested three years ago for serial rape. He had raped twenty three woman ranging from the age of fifteen to six-three. He went through a long trial, which lasted eighteen months after which he was released on a technicality. He was then picked up by my dad and has been held in our basement for the sixteen months, where we continuously drain him of blood, whilst keeping him alive.

'However', Anna decided to help out her husband, 'we can still continue to drain his blood and we have the annual vampire award ceremony to attend this weekend. If we don't get someone, we'll be able to survive until then'.

I'll come back to the Annual Vampire Award Ceremony later, it has a huge impact on my stories.

'I want to go', a deep voice from the corner of the room spoke and everyone looked over to where Gleb was hiding in the shadows.

'That's fine. The invitation was for the whole household'

'What about me', I asked

'You're coming too', dad responded.

'But, what about....'

'Quiet now. This isn't up for debate'

It took me a second to realize that he didn't want Gleb Dedov to know that I wasn't a vampire.

'Could just kill my doctor, he deserves it', Uncle Vlad mumbled and both mum and dad ignored him.
