Washroom, washroom, washroom.
I sprinted through the halls, trying to remember where a washroom was.
There!
I zoomed in, nearly crashing into a wall.
When I got out, I sighed in relief.
"That's some speeed you've got there."
I jump, spinning around, before narrowing my eyes. "Why are you here?"
He continues as if he didn't hear me. "You also have a lot of stamina, a lot for some one who 'hasn't done too much training', and you seem to know your way around the Court." He looks at me, suspicious. "What are you hiding?"
Crap. I stare at him defiantly, thinking of an excuse. "This is good stamina? Good speed? Wow, guardians must suck now."
He looks startled.
"Why are you so surprised, Dibe?" I sneer at the nickname. "Surprised that I hit the mark? Surprised that you never noticed exactly how weak all your little guardian friends were? Is it so surprising that my darling toured me around the Court and that I memorized where everything was? Your standards of 'good' must be extremely low."
He stiffens at the word darling. "Darling? Don't make me laugh. You're nothing more than a toy to him. A pastime to relieve the pain."
Pain? Oh yeah, he thought I was someone else. Dibe thinks that I'm just a replacement for me, in other words, Rose.
I glare. "You know nothing about our relationship."
He glares back, before something changes and his guardian mask is up once more. "I apologize, Miss Rosilia. I seem to have offended you. Would you like me to escort you to your room? Or the party?" His hands are on my shoulders, as if he's going to steer me off at any second.
A weird feeling makes me shiver. I whip around, shaking off his hand as if I were being attacked, and unconciously assume a defensive position.
This time, the surprise on his face is a lot more noticeable as he says, "you're definitely lying about something. Way above average stamina and speed, rusty but skilled fighting moves, a good sense of you way around the court..... only......"
Now he's keeping his thoughts to himself, but I notice that his hand is still gripping my wrist.
I struggle to twist it out, only to find that he's way stronger than me.
While I'm twisting and turning my wrist, he comes back to his senses and, startled, releases my hand. "My apologies, Miss Rosilia. Where would you like to go? I'll guide you."
I'm still mulling over my lack of strength, before saying, "the gym."
