Jasmine hurriedly rushed downtown to Joe's Coffee Shop. She couldn't be late to her first job. Being a college student was already hard enough, but being a BROKE one was out of the option. She didn't want to be living off roman noddles and air as a life source. As she pushed her way through the crowd, she ended up colliding with a gorgeous brunette.
"I'm so sorry," Jasmine said frantically while helping the girl pick up her books.
"It's okay," the girl replied back with a shy smile while her green eyes twinkle as she observed the girl in front of her. The girl complexion was a radiating mocha color and her big, brown eyes were to die for. Even though the collision might have taken the breath out of her, she was glad she had bumped into her. Never had she seen someone so beautiful. Brooke was too caught up in her observation that she didn't notice the girl was reading her journal that she recently dropped. A quick blush consumed her cheek once she realized. The girl then handed her back her book.
"Those poems are actually really good. You should perform at Joe's Coffee Shop on slam night. It's on Thursday's," she said excitedly.
"Umm...I don't know. With school and dance, I might be too busy," Brooke uttered out nervously.
"Oh, come on you won't regret it. Besides, you'll get to see me again. Speaking of Joe's, I'm heading down there right now! Come on, let's sign you up for the slam." Jasmine then took a hold of Brooke's hand and drag her along.
Little did they know that they will connect through words, as they made their way into the little coffee shop.
