As Brooke was walking down the hallway to her next class she couldn't believe her eyes. There stood a slender, redhead, who looked familiar, in the middle of the hallway. However, she was familiar...because she was Brooke's ex Brooke paled as she got closer to her figure. She tried to avoid her, but she could tell that Amber had instantly recognized her, by the way, her eyes light up.
"Oh, my gosh, Brooke! I️ have been looking for you!
"After all these years," mutter Brooke from under her breath.
"What you say?"
"Nothing. I was just wondering why you are here and no I️ haven't seen you in years."
"I️ know and I'm sorry about that. But I️ had run into your aunt at the bakery today and ask how you've been. And she told me that you've been well attending Berkeley, but that you were a little on the depressed side. She said you never been the same after me."
Brooke's eyes darken, "Actually, I️ have been just the same. Just was better at hiding my depression back then."
"Oh really. Then what could have made you depressed then?"
"I have nothing to tell you. You aren't concern in my personal affairs," Brooke said abruptly.
"But I️ want to be."
"Why now? Is it because I'm doing good for myself."
"No, it's because I'm finally away from my mom. You know how she never approved of us being together. That's why I️ left you like that. She had convinced me to end things with you, or else she was going to tamper with my trust fund, and I️ couldn't afford that. I️ wasn't willing to take that risk, so I️ sacrifice you instead."
"Oh great. It's nice to see how you actually cared for me," Brooke said sarcastically.
"I do care for you. I still do. That's why I'm here. I want to mend things between us because I honestly miss you."
"I think it's too late for that."
"It's never too late," Amber insisted.
"But it is. I moved on. I met somebody else."
"Who is this somebody else? I don't see her around."
"That's because I pushed her away, and it's all because of you. You gave me trust issue. No scratch that. Relationship issues in general."
"I'm sorry about that. I️ know I should have ended things better between us then just ignore you, but I couldn't bear to break your heart in person."
"I would have been better off with that."
"Oh. Well, I really am sorry. Can you forgive me?" Ask Amber in a hopeful voice with a huge grin.
Brooke couldn't help herself and found that she was smiling at Amber unintentionally."Of course I forgive you. That's all I've wanted. I just wanted an explanation," Brooke said as she accepted Amber's hug. Secretly, Brooke couldn't help herself and couldn't contain the unintentional, goofy smile on her face as she hugged Amber.
Little did Brooke know that Jasmine was walking down the hall at this time and as she walked passed by, she heard the random girl hugging Brooke say something along the lines of "I hate that I'm your ex..." This caused Jasmine's heart to stutter. Ex, thought Jasmine. Is this the reason why she broke up with me? And just like that Jasmine had dropped dead, but no one noticed the pain as it was easy for her to disguise, so she continued to walk past with her head held high.
