Andrew's hands gripped the steering wheel as he drove back to his apartment. Stupid girl, stupid relationship, stupid feelings, he thought to himself. Still, he couldn't get her out of his head. You're not going to get anywhere in life if you worry about the feelings of other people. He pulled into his apartment parking lot.

Marcus was drinking a can of beer when Andrew barged through the door.

"Jesus Andrew, you scared me! Where have you been? You look pissed."

"Don't worry about it," Andrew growled and tried to put on a fake smile.

"Did something happen with your girl?" Marcus asked. That was a bad idea. Andrew lunged at Marcus' throat. Marcus gasped as Andrew's hands tightened around his throat.

"Never mention Harleen again. Understand?" Andrew hissed. Marcus nodded and Andrew released him. He shot up gasping and slowly started to catch his breath. Andrew just sat smirking. "I'm going to go talk to the boss. I think it'd be best if you stay put," Andrew said. Marcus was quick to agree. A new level of fear was developing towards his previously mild mannered roommate.

------------

"Whatever you're about to tell me better be important. I don't like meeting at night ever since the bat appeared," the Penguin said from his desk.

"Boss, I want to talk about the plan tomorrow. I think we should change it," Andrew replied.

"What's wrong with it?"

"I think that murder should be involved," Andrew suggested licking his lips

"Absolutely not. We know for sure that Mr. Ruses will give up the money after being threatened. If we kill the police will be up our ass about it. If its not necessary, than we're not going to do it," Penguin replied sternly.

"But you're missing the point. It will give the element of surprise. It will ensure that Ruses never messes with us again. Trust me."

"For the last time no. And don't try anything tomorrow. If you fire one shot there will be serious consequences. As my second in command I can trust you, right Jack?"

"Of course," Andrew smiled.

"Good. Go home now; we both need sleep," Penguin dismissed him. Andrew's hands were fidgeting as he left the warehouse. A million things were running through his head. I should be the one in command. Penguin is weak. Harleen should be within my reach now. Wait, don't think about her. This city deserves to burn.

Little did he know that he himself was burning.
