Chapter 8: The Big Blue House

The sun streams through the window, leaving bright designs dancing across the wall. It took me a moment to remember that I was in Hawaii instead of Japan, but then again, I am a deep sleeper. In the bed beside me Ino stirs
as she too regains consciousness.

"Mm, morning billboard brow." She groans sleepily.

"Yeah yeah, get your ass up, we should make breakfast for the hungry pigs that live in this house." I complain as I get dressed.

"We'll burn the house down." The blond whines.

"Well that's paperwork for you, not me."

I leave the conversation at that before heading downstairs. It's weird to be able to look out a window and an endless expanse of blue sea, though, I'm not complaining.

There's also something else I noticed. A little ways down the beach there was another house. With exotic flowers surrounding the base and vines traveling up the side of the blue painted walls.

I'm pretty sure Ino said only Sai lives on this beach. Did she? I can't remember. Anyways as long as it isn't another person that somehow has connections to one of my friends then I'm Gucci my dude.

When I get to the kitchen I am surprised. No, more than surprised. I am shook.

"Hinata pleeeeeeeeaaaassssseeee."

"No Naruto."

"Come on, it'll be fun! Just the two of us."

"We only just saw each other again and I wasn't that close to you back then either."

"BUT HINATAAAAAA."

"I'll think about it."

When the hell did they get on speaking terms. Maybe I've been in a coma for five years and am just waking up now. Are they married? Any children running around?

"Sakura!"

"U-Uh yes, Mrs. Uzumaki, I mean Hinata!" I stutter out, laughing nervously.

"You went to sleep earlier than the rest of us last night, well 'went to sleep', but you didn't hear Ino telling us that we'd be visiting our other neighbor today." Hinata smiles as she puts toast on a plate.

"Believe it!"

"Why wouldn't I?"

"O-oh um I don't know."

"Anyways apparently they moved in since we came to college. Sai told her about them." My purple haired friend starts laying out plates and bowls of food on the table.

"Any names?" I ask as I take a seat.

"Nope. Hey Naruto, can you call everyone down." She turns to the blonde who's been following her like a lost puppy.

"Sure! EVERYONE BREAKFAST IS READY AND HINATA MADE IT SO YOU BETTER COME HERE FAST BEFORE I EAT IT ALL!"

"That's one way to do it." I mumble.

As noisy as it was it effectively brought the rest of the inhabitants down to the table.

"Morning everyone." Tenten groans.

She gets murmured responses but that's to be expected with jet lag and everything.  As everyone eats in silence I can't help but scan over the boys.

Don't take this the wrong way. But they are frickin hot compared to how they looked in high school. Like they were popular for that reason but if we went back to our high school right now, some people would have heart attacks.

It didn't take long for us to finish up the meal and do the dishes. So that left only one thing on the agenda; visit the neighbors.

Getting dressed, the eight of us start walking along the beach towards the house.

"The breeze is nice." Neji comments.

"Mhm, it's so refreshing." Ino sighs.

We get to the doorstep and face a nicely refined white wood door.

"I'm not knocking." I look at Ino pointedly.

"This is your neighbor not ours." Tenten pokes the blond girl.

"Fine fine, just go away." She hisses before raising her fist and knocking twice.

It doesn't take long for the door to open, and Ino immediately begins spouting her automated message.

"Hello! We live one one of the houses a little ways down the beach! We just wanted to greet..........YOU!" Ino screams and points to the person at the door.

"U-uh." The girl looks back into the house frantically.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?!"

Suddenly a new person appears beside her at the door.

"Is there a problem Temari?"

Let the chaos begin.
