Jenny

I can't sleep again. How can I? He's right on the floor right next to me, and all I can think about is the way his lips made me feel.
Why was I tingly all over? Why was my breath caught in my throat? He's hot as hell, he's so sweet and caring.
The way he kissed me out there...
I shake my head to myself. I can't sleep.
I abandon the concept and shove the covers off of me. It's been two hours since I woke up from that nightmare.
I slip out of bed and make a move to go downstairs. I get halfway to my door when a voice stops me.
"Where are you going?"
It's Zoe.
"Downstairs." I say.
"Why?"
"Because I can't sleep."
"Why?"
She's not exactly being quiet.
I shush her.
"Don't worry about it."
She sits up anyways.
"Did something happen between you and Ian?"
Lie.
"I'm going downstairs." I repeat.
"Jenny, it's five in the morning." She says. "You need to go back to sleep."
"I don't need to do anything." I say.
I walk out.
I hear her whispering to somebody on my way downstairs.

Ian

I'm being shaken.
"Hmm?" I hum, rolling over onto my stomach.
"What happened with you and Jenny?" Zoe asks.
"What?" I ask, lifting my head. She turns the light on. Everyone is awake and she looks stubborn, like she's not going to sleep until I answer her.
"What happened with you and Jenny?" She repeats. I grunt in response, looking over to see if Jenny is awake.
She's not there.
I shrug.
"Don't worry about it." I mumble, closing my eyes.
"Ian." Zoe says, stubborn. "Tell me what happened."

Jenny

I forgot my phone upstairs, so I turn around and go back up.
When I walk in, my light is on, and Zoe is interrogating Ian.
I'm exhausted but sleep is impossible.
"Jenny, what happened?" She whines.
At the mention of my name, Ian opens his eyes. I'm standing in the doorway. I flick the light off.
She gets up and turns it right back on.
"Tell me what happened."
I ignore her, crossing the room.
When I pass Ian's mattress, she pushes me.
I fall, landing next to him.
"What the hell, Zoe!" Ian says, angry. He looks at me. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine." I mumble. I'm sitting next to him now, and he's laying down, and my knee is against his side and I can feel his muscles.
"Tell me or you can just stay down there."
Irritated, I get up, grab Zoe's arm and shove her out of my room.
"Sleep on the couch." I say to the shut door.
I turn the light off and get back in bed.
Ian is laughing.
I couldn't care less.
Zoe starts being really loud and thundering against the door.
If she wakes my parents I'm going to get my ass kicked.
I'm honestly mad now.
I get out of bed and turn the light back on, ripping the door open.
"Shut the fuck up!" I snarl. "You're going to wake my fucking parents up!"
"Whatever happened with you and Ian is my business and-"
"Whatever happened with Ian and I is Ian and I's business, not the whole fucking world! I don't bother you about Dylan! Why? Because I respect your fucking privacy!"
"Don't swear at me, you dumb bitch! You don't ask about Dylan because you don't fucking care! If you did, you would've found a way to tell me you got your shit taken away. If you cared, you wouldn't have killed yourself in front of me!"
I slap the shit out of her.
"You fucking bitch!" She gasps. She lunges at me, swinging. I shove her off me, hard. She slams into the wall and comes right back at me.
I feel strong arms wrapping around my waist, pulling me away from her. The house falls silent.
The only sound is Zoe and I's breathing.
Ian is the one who separated me from her.
He releases his grip on me.
I glare at Zoe.
"Get the fuck out." I say.
Down the hall, I hear my parents door open, and my Dad comes down the hall with my Mom behind him, putting her eye drops in her eyes as she walks.
"What is going on here?" Dad demands.
"Your daughter is a bitch." Zoe snaps.
Dad looks at me.
I scoff loudly.
"Zoe is nosy and then said I never cared about her because I tried to kill myself with her in the room." I say, glaring at Zoe.
"It's fucking true." Zoe snarls. "And-"
"It's not true, it's completely uncalled for." Ian cuts in.
"The fact that you would even use that against her is ridiculous." Isaac says.
"I want details." Mom says. "Now."
I sigh.
"Jenny was leaving the room because she couldn't sleep so I asked her if something happened with her and Ian since they both like each other and she wouldn't tell me and she left anyways and so I woke up Ian to ask him and Jenny came back upstairs and she wouldn't tell me so I pushed her onto the mattress with Ian and told her to tell me and if she didn't then she could stay down there with him so she got up and kicked me out and then I started hitting the door and Jenny came back because I was going to wake you guys up and and she told me to shut the fuck up, and then I told Jenny that what happened with her and Ian is my business and she said that it's hers and Ian's and not mine and that she respects Dylan and I's privacy and then I told her that she doesn't respect our privacy, she doesn't care. If she cared she'd have found a way to tell me she got her phone taken. She never would've killed herself in front of me...and then Jenny slapped me across the face."
Silence.
I hope she realizes how ridiculous she sounds.
My parents look at each other.
"How did you guys end up in the hall?" Dad asks, eyeing the guys.
"I pulled Jenny off of Zoe, Dylan grabbed Zoe, and Isaac just got up because of the situation."
Dad nods slowly.
"Zoe, I think you should head on home." Mom says gently.
Zoe looks outraged.
She just looks at Dylan.
It's bullshit.
I scowl as Dylan starts grabbing his things.
"Ian, Isaac, you guys can stay if you want to." Mom says.
"I mean, I have to work at seven..." Isaac trails off, looking at Ian.
Ian sighs, and they all start grabbing their things.
I watch as they all leave.
Ian turns to me when everyone is out of the room, and he kisses my temple softly.
"I'm sorry, Jenny."
"It's alright." I say, mustering up a smile.
He hesitates before walking out.
When all the cars are out of the driveway, my parents just stand in my room, looking at me.
"Please don't lecture me."
"You never should have hit her." Dad says. "But given the circumstance...I would have done the same thing."
I sigh.
"So what happened with Ian?" Mom asks.
I sigh.
"Mom." I say.
"It's none of my business." She puts her hands up.
I sigh slowly.
Dad shakes his head and walks out.
I just start cleaning up the beds and such. I put the blankets in the wash and start it and then I fold up the blowup mattresses.
I feeling of Ian's lips on mine can't leave my head.
I keep cleaning until the sun starts peeking through the clouds.
I know where I have to go.
