"Yes Stacie," Beca sighed as she pinched her nose out of frustration.
"I'm sorry Bec, I just kind of can't believe it," Stacie giggled. The pair were waiting for Jesse on their usual bench and Beca had decided to inform her best friend on the recent events with Chloe.
"No shit," Beca said as she pulled the rim of her hat over her ears. It was their final week of school and unluckily, Barden closed for Christmas for a short period of time, students leaving for the holiday on the 19th and returning on the 3rd of the following year. Beca had taken extra measures to keep herself warm in the morning, including her favourite hat and a pair of fluffy socks.
"So you're like not together, but you're testing it out?" Stacie inquired.
"Basically," Beca shrugged, "to be honest I don't even know,"
"So you're hooking up?" Stacie asked again.
"No Stace, we're not hooking up gee, I don't just want to sleep with her," Beca rolled her eyes.
"But its high on the list?"
"We'll see how it goes alright," Beca said sternly.
"Alright, alright,"
"But you can't tell anyone, not your mom or brother or my parent or Jesse, no one," Beca confirmed.
"Ah, you're illegally hot secret is safe with me," Stacie mimed zipping her lips shut with a wink.
"Great, and I might need you to cover for me tonight, I'm gonna see if Chloe's available," Beca said.
"Aw look at you, starting what could be a nice long relationship," Stacie teased as Beca shoved her shoulder, "no but I'm kind of serious, I'm happy for you Bec, she's a nice one and I'm sure after tonight she'll proper dig you," Stacie smirked.
"Whatever dude we'll see... Here comes Jess, not a word,"
"You're so calling me tonight," Stacie whispered with a laugh. Beca simply glared at her before turning her attention to Jesse.
"Swanson," Beca put on her manly voice and raised her hand for a high five, Jesse jumping to hit it as hard as possible.
"Last week at school before Christmas bitches," Jesse grinned.
"Hells yeah, you ready for our Macbeth test on Friday?" Stacie asked Beca.
"Damn sure, well, not too sure but Miss Beale might tutor me again on Thursday so I'll be totally ready,"
"Tutor you, yeah riiight," Stacie smirked. Jesse's brow raised inquisitively but Beca brushed him off quickly and changed the subject.
"Let's go bitches," She said hurriedly as she swung her bag over her shoulder and grabbed Jesse's arm, pulling him off the bench and heading to their first class.- - - - - -
The day had passed a lot quicker than Beca had thought, and she even did work in her philosophy lesson, for the absolute joy of her teacher. She was laid on her bed, a recent mix playing through her headphones. She checked her phone for the time and smirked as she swiped to open it and her text thread with Chloe, sending her a text to ask if she had plans for the night and awaiting a response.Red [5:24pm]: Nope, why?
Me [5:25pm]: Can I come over?? X
Red [5:27pm]: You might be knocking on a few doors before you reach me
Me [5:28pm]: I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end Beale ;)
Red [5:29pm]: Always the charmer. I'm free after 6, sure you're okay to come? XO
Me [5:31pm]: Stacie will cover for me, you don't have to worry Chlo x see you in 30!Beca smiled to herself as she plugged her phone in to charge and got ready to go out, Chloe would send her address, so even though Beca knew roughly where the redhead lived, she wouldn't get the wrong house. She opened her closet and pulled out her simple skinny's and flannel, chucking them on over her vest. She ran her hairbrush through her hair a few times and brushed her teeth and picked up a simple hoodie before swiping her phone from the charger and heading downstairs. Her father was at his desk, his rimmed glasses perched on his nose as he stared at his computer. He looked up and smiled warmly as Beca leant against the doorframe,
"Beca," he stated.
"Hey, um Stacie's asked me to dinner because it's just her and Rex and she wanted some company her own age," she chuckled lightly, "I'll be back later,"
"Alright Bec, be safe,"Beca started down the road as she tugged the jumper over her head and pulled the hood up, stashing her hands in the pockets.
It wasn't long before she was outside Chloe's apartment, having side tracked along the way as she saw a market selling flowers. She tapped lightly on Chloe's door and waited until the redhead opened it. When she did, Beca was greeted with a smile and a small chuckle,
"Well look at you," the redhead laughed as she pulled Beca into her apartment.
"Oh no, these aren't for you," Beca smirked, "they're for my side-chick, she lives around here somewhere,"
"Right, well I hope she enjoys them, they are rather beautiful," Chloe smiled causing Beca to chuckle with a shake of her head and extend her arm with the flowers in it to the redhead.
"Thank you," Chloe smiled as she took them from her hand.
"Nice place by the way, I guess I never really looked at it when I was in here last," Beca smiled as she looked around the apartment. A few pictures hung on the walls like Beca remembered, and she was instantly drawn to one she had seen when she first woke up on Chloe's couch. It was the picture of the small red headed girl, obviously Chloe, gazing into the brown eyes of a man, his smile wide and bright.
"That's my dad," Chloe spoke from behind her, "I believe that was taken on a holiday we took to California,"
"He looks really nice,"
"He is," Chloe smiled brightly as she thought of her father, "coffee?" She asked, pulling Beca slightly out of her chance as she mumbled a reply."Well aren't you quite the explorer," Chloe stated as she leant against the doorframe of her bedroom, seeing Beca stood in front of a large bookshelf, head slightly tilted as she dragged a finger over the spine of the books, "I never would have pegged you as someone to be in awe of pictures and bookshelves,"
"Only because they're yours," Beca whispered, "there's so many, have you read them all?"
"All? I wish, no but I've read a fair few," Chloe shrugged, "come on your coffee's done." Beca followed her out of the bedroom and picked her coffee up, the pair eventually sinking into Chloe's couch side by side.
"Are you an only child?" Beca pondered as she sipped from her coffee cup.
"I have an older brother, only by 2 years, he lives nearer to my parents and works as a nurse. His name's Sam," Chloe explained.
"And where do you're parents live?"
"New York," Chloe smiled.
"Blimey," Beca chuckled.
"Yeah, my parents both earn quite a bit of money," Chloe shrugged.
"And what made you want to move here?"
"I'm not sure really, I guess I got fed up of the size of New York, I mean it was always so busy as you'd expect and although there's plenty of nice things to do, I fancied a change," Chloe sighed, "how about you? Only child?"
"Yeah, there's nothing really interesting about me," Beca laughed.
"I beg to differ, what were you doing, when you had that guitar and a laptop in that classroom?"
"Oh, that was my mixes," Beca mumbled.
"Mixes?"
"Yeah I like combine tracks to make new tracks, I've been doing it a while really. Mr Green helps me out sometimes and let's me borrow guitars or the piano,"
"You play both?"
"Yeah, that's my 'talent' I guess - music," Beca shrugged.
"And it's a very good talent to have, I couldn't play a guitar or a piano for shit," Chloe laughed.
"I'll teach you a bit one day if you like," Beca offered.
"That'd be awesome," Chloe smiled as she drank her coffee.A/N:
