"Guess what!!!" Beca called as she approached Jesse, Fat Amy and Stacie on Friday morning.
"It's the last day of school?" Jesse questioned.
"You're moving to the antarctic!" Fat Amy called out as she took in Beca's hat and scarf.
"It's fucking cold ok," Beca huffed.
"So what's the big news?" Stacie asked, faking innocence.
"I'm getting a Camaro soon!" Beca sang as she danced around the group.
"Aw that's awesome," Jesse grinned.
"I'm so excited. But, it's not exactly in the best shape apparently so I might need your guys help in fixing it up a bit before it's ready to be driven," Beca smirked.
"Group project, sounds good," Stacie smiled.
"Amy, you good with cars?" Beca asked.
"Duh, I'll have you know my dad was a mechanic back in Oz," she smiled.
"Ah it's all sorted then," Beca smiled, "speaking of, Jess what's happening with your car?"
"Oh well at the moment, I'm just taking it with my dad to parts of his mates private land and driving it a bit, I'll take my test sometime in the new year I'm not sure," he shrugged.
"Oh alright. Soon we'll be able to drag race each other on the back streets," Beca smirked.
"Bring it, I'll just make sure to loosen a few screws when we're 'fixing' your camaro," He smiled as the four started to walk into school.
"You wouldn't," Beca said, a look of fake horror etched across her face.
"It's fine shawshank, I know exactly where to hit his car to send it spinning more than those DJ disks on a club night," Amy piped up, making the others laugh at her analogy as they pushed the door open to their math class and were hustled to their seats. It had gotten to lunch break and Jesse, Stacie and Beca were in Mr Green's classroom after she claimed it was too cold to even set foot outside. Mr Green had reluctantly let the three stay in there as long as they didn't tip off anyone who caught them, to which Beca immediately agreed.
"How come you're in a different class to us in English but not math?" Stacie pondered as she sat on the table, flicking Jesse lightly with her foot.
"I have no idea, there's only two classes, think of it though it's good that Amy came into my class otherwise I would've been singled out," he laughed lightly.
"Dude you make friends faster than Stacie can open her legs," Beca smirked from across the class, where she was sat nonchalantly hitting keys on the piano.
"And that's fast," Stacie grinned jokingly.
"You know I'm kidding Stace," Beca smiled.
"Yeah yeah, why don't you fuck that piano," she flipped Beca off with a laugh. Jesse grinned as he followed to sit beside Beca,
"Teach me something, something simple," he added.
"Like what?"
"Happy birthday," Stacie called out, "even I know how to play that,"
"Alright," Beca smiled. She sat and positioned her fingers over the correct keys, "right so copy what I do with my hands basically," she said. As she played each note, Jesse copied her and they gradually got faster until Beca stopped with a smile as she let Jesse carry on. He stopped a while after with a smirk,
"Musical genius here I come," he laughed.
"Yeah you can be the next Mozart," Beca laughed as she stood from the piano.
"We should get to class," Stacie said, sliding her phone back into her pocket.
"Right on, I'll see you two at some point over Christmas, have a good one," Jesse left after giving the two girls a hug.
"Seeya Jess," Stacie called, "ready for our test?"
"Ah dude now you say it like that it sucks, our last lesson before Christmas break and it's a fucking test," Beca frowned.
"It won't take the whole time I bet," Stacie shrugged, "pick your chin up," she laughed as the pair walked to Chloe's classroom side by side.Beca smiled lightly as she watched Chloe address the class at the start of her English lesson, she did enjoy it in the redhead's class, even if it did remind her of the shitty situation the pair were in. She enjoyed the way Chloe's eyes would sparkle when she talked about a subject she enjoyed and how she'd rest her pen lid in between her teeth when she was marking. It was adorable.
"For all of you groaning and complaining, no, this test will not last the whole of the class, it's only to get your knowledge on the subject, you'll have a half hour at the end to decide what you would like to do." Chloe rolled her eyes slightly as a few of her students let out quiet praises that the test wouldn't be too long. She handed out the papers swiftly and stood back at the front of the class,
"You can all start," she began, "good luck," she added, her eyes making contact with Beca's and lingering on the brunette with a smile before sitting down. Beca instantly dropped her head to the test, thanking Chloe that she had slightly based some of the questions on what they had covered in her tutoring sessions."Alright, finish up whenever your writing, times basically up," Miss Beale called from the front of the class. Beca rested her pen between her teeth before scribbling down a final sentence, her eyebrows scrunching up finally as she finished. Pushing her test away from her and tapping her pen on the table. Chloe walked around the class, collecting the papers as she went. She stopped slightly by Beca's desk,
"You alright?" She asked.
"Yup, let's hope I get high marks," Beca smirked slightly.
"Oh I'm sure you will,"
"You'll have to let me know," Beca smiled as she placed her test in Chloe's hand, giving her a small wink as the redhead chuckled slightly before moving away from her desk.
"Hey Beca, how'd you think it went?" Stacie asked as she leant towards the brunette.
"Easier then I thought it'd be," Beca shrugged, "but not a walk in the park... you?"
"Yeah it was fine," Stacie smiled.
"Alright class, good job on that, I'll get them marked over Christmas. Feel free to do whatever you please for the rest of class," the redhead smiled.
"Awesome," Stacie grinned as she turned to Beca and began rambling about what she was doing over the Christmas break. It was later that evening when Beca had crashed out on her bedroom floor, happy that she didn't have to go to school for another few weeks and she could simply look forward to her Christmas break. Her two older cousins were coming over with her aunt and uncle for Boxing Day and then for a few nights afterwards, but other than that she wasn't doing much. She had managed to pick gifts for all her family members and Jesse, Stacie and Amy. But she now had Chloe to think about, she sighed as she pulled open her laptop, eager to find something special for the redhead.
It was a short while after when Beca's phone chimed from where it was charging on her desk, she rolled off her bed and picked it up, smiling as she saw Chloe's contact.Red [5:18pm]: Picture message received.
Beca began to smirk as she opened the picture message, already guessing as to what it was. There, a picture of Beca's test sat on Chloe's kitchen work surface, a B+ written in red ink on the front.
Me [5:20pm]: Oh Beale that's totally worth a reward ;)
Red [5:21pm]: Hmmm...
Me [5:23pm]: Maybe something sweeter than a bag of candy? X
Red [5:24pm]: Depends on whether you're free on Sunday ;) x
Me [5:25pm]: Always free for you babe x
Red [5:26pm]: I'll look forward to it xBeca placed her phone back on charge with a chuckle and a shake of her head. She was happy with a B+, and she knew that that was basically all down to Chloe. 'Maybe she's the one that deserves the reward' Beca thought as she pulled her laptop back onto her lap with a smile.
