A/N:
Sorry sorry sorry!!! My phone broke, I had to rewrite like half the chapter. I did is as soon as I could but I'm sorry it's later than usual :)"Dude, why does she keep staring at me?" Beca groaned quietly as she sat talking to Stacie in English. They'd been assigned a pair project to do for the next two weeks on a writer of their choice and Beca and Stacie had obviously been more than happy to work together. Yet, Beca had been slightly distracted as she'd realised that every few minutes Chloe's eyes would wander to her and Stacie.
"Beca, seriously?" Stacie whispered, slightly shocked.
"What?" Beca grunted, "it's distracting,"
"No, what I mean is that you're only just noticing it?!" Stacie asked.
"Well yeah, why how long has it been going on for?"
"Uhhh, basically since you guys 'broke up'," Stacie explained, using air quotes.
"And why didn't you tell me!" Came the harsh whisper.
"Well I thought you'd noticed it and we're ignoring it?"
"Gee thanks," Beca huffed.
"Miss Mitchell, Miss Conrad, less of the chat please," Chloe called out across the classroom, eyes glued to the back of Beca's head. Stacie gave her a sheepish smile, returned her attention back to the work but kept her voice low as she spoke.
"I can't tell if she's pissed off or just wants to rip your clothes off and shag you right here," she chuckled lightly, "but its every lesson dude, and sometimes when we're walking together on campus or around the halls," she shook her head lightly.
"Well as much as I appreciate her longing looks, they're really not helping in our whole 'live your life' plan, are they?" Beca rolled her eyes lightly.
"She'll probably ask to talk to you at the end of the lesson, I bet five dollars on it,"
"You're on, I bet she doesn't, just stares at my ass as I walk out the door," Beca laughed.
"Wouldn't put it past her dude," Stacie shrugged, "we should probably do some work, we only have 20 minutes left," Both nodded and turned their attention to the project they were doing, ignoring the frequent looks Chloe was sending them."You couldn't be bothered to come over and just tell me?" Beca asked, "surely it would've been much easier," She huffed. It was in the final minutes of class when Beca's phone had vibrated in her pocket, a text from Chloe telling her to stay after class.
"I didn't want people to suspect okay," Chloe sighed.
"Scared they noticed your frequent staring and started to suspect something?" Beca rolled her eyes, "what do you want,"
"Beca what is wrong with you?"
"With me?!" Beca asked, shocked.
"Yes with you, you're acting like a child. What's your sudden problem with me?" Chloe asked.
"You've no clue do you? Chloe you tell me your ready, make me feel all these feelings about you, about us and then suddenly break it off with me in the space of like 12 hours. And now you think that because you stare longingly at me every ten seconds I'm suddenly going to forget all of that and fall into your arms!" She threw her arms up in anger before letting them drop to her sides in defeat. Chloe sat stunned for a few seconds, staring at the brunette who had just had an outburst in front of her, "I'm just trying to live like a normal student okay," Beca added.
"What like getting hammered and relying on some girl to release your pent up frustrations on," Chloe said.
"What?" Beca's head snapped up, eyeing Chloe suspiciously.
"Beca, I'm a teacher and I have ears. People talk. I heard about the party and whatever you did with that Sam girl," Chloe stated.
"Whatever I did? What do you think I did Chloe?" Beca almost shouted, the anger rising inside of her.
"You were both probably drunk, I heard a lot about you sticking your tongue down her throat and well I can assume the rest,"
"Assume the rest? Really? You have no fucking clue Chloe," Beca accused.
"Well then tell me Beca, tell me what you got up to that night,"
"I drank, she drank, she came on to me," Beca emphasised.
"But you didn't push her away Beca,"
"Why should I have to?! In case you forgot, we are not together any more Chloe. I can do what I like and I intend to," Beca stood, pushing her chair loudly against the ground, grabbed her back and slung it over her back. She ignored the look of hurt that had been slowly creeping onto Chloe's face, she was too overridden by anger. She started towards the door and didn't stop walking until she was out of the gates of Barden, puffing as she strode out to get away from Chloe as fast as she could.
She pulled her phone from her pocket and dialled Stacie's number, cursing at the brunette to pick up until she heard Rex's voice on the other end of the phone. She calmed her anger enough to politely ask to talk to Stacie, before nearly shouting down the phone at Stacie, filling her in on all the things that Chloe had said to her just then and allowing her anger to drain slowly as Stacie just listened on the other end. She eventually hung up, after walking almost all the way to her house and after some well needed advice from Stacie.Beca lay sprawled on her couch that night watching a movie with her mom thinking about what had happened earlier in the day. Her anger had subsided but was now filled with something different. Disappointment. Chloe had automatically assumed that she had gone to the party and used Sam to get over her frustrations. Beca understood where the redhead was coming from, it seemed like something a lot of people would do. But it still hurt her that Chloe would instantly think that Beca could simply wipe her brain, her heart, of the things she felt towards Chloe, the things Chloe made her feel.
She was still angry at the redhead, angry that she had brought the party up, angry that she'd brought up Sam and accused her of using her and overall just angry about the whole situation. Angry that Chloe broke it off with her. Angry that she'd let herself fall so easily. Angry that she thought that a relationship with her teacher would ever work. Just angry.
"Sweetie what's wrong," Beca's mom spoke.
"Huh? Oh nothing I'm just thinking," Beca smiled lightly.
"What, thinking about someone you wanna punch?!" The older woman giggled.
"Something like that," Beca smirked with a laugh.
