A/N:
I'm tying this fic off now with maybe only around 5 or 6 more chapters.Beca felt unusually at ease as she lay on her bed. She had been to pick up Chloe discreetly the previous night and the brunette had taken her for a short walk away from anywhere other students would be and then they'd eaten a small dinner together. It was, in a way, their first date. Her and Chloe had had a small chat about their growing relationship, deciding to not label it at the current time and to ensure that no one found out about it at Barden.
In the middle of the date, Beca had produced another USB, proudly placing it in Chloe's hand as she explained how she had done a do over, how she had made some new mixes and added them to the original playlist, taken out some of the sadder songs, but still left a few, and had even added an original acoustic song that Beca had written and sung herself.
As Beca had explained all about the playlist, Chloe's eyes had glassed over and Beca was pulled into a tight embrace.
As she replayed the date in her mind a smile graced Beca's face, it was the best first date she'd ever been on.
Just as she let her eyes flutter closed her alarm went and she let out a groan, cursing as she dragged herself out of her bedroom and down to have breakfast."Beca, where did you go last night?" Her mom asked, without lifting her eyes from the morning paper she was reading.
"Out?" Beca offered.
"Oh very funny."
"I just went out with a friend, they wanted a ride in my Camaro so we went out and had a bit of dinner, that's all," the brunette shrugged.
"Sounds like a date to me," Beca's mom whispered to herself.
"Yeah right Mom," Beca rolled her eyes, returning back to her food after her mom let out a small sigh.
"Who is she?"
"Who's who?"
"The girl you took on this date,"
"Mom it wasn't a date!!" Beca insisted.
"Your dad found this in your car this morning," her mom continued, onto the table she placed a red purse, then looked up to Beca with a challenging glare, "and I know it's not yours, or Stacie's,"
"Yeah, it's my friend's. And I'll need to give it back to her," Beca smiled as she went to reach for the purse, but having her mom pull it away.
"Well, let's look inside and see the identity of my daughter's 'friend' then shall we?" she started to open the purse before Beca leapt up and swiped it off the table.
"She's called Chloe," Beca said as she grabbed the purse. Her parents definitely couldn't find out Chloe's full name, so Chloe would have to do.
"And is she pretty?" Beca's mom smiled.
"Beautiful mom. Now really, I have to go and get ready for school,"
"Fine. Have a good day sweetie," her mom laughed before turning her attention back to the paper in front of her as Beca ran upstairs with a grumble.- - - - -
"She left her fucking purse in my car last night and my dad found it," Beca rolled her eyes.
"So you had to tell her Chloe's name otherwise it could've been much worse, I getcha," Stacie nodded. The pair were in their chem lesson talking about what happened that morning.
"Yeah," Beca nodded, "much worse,"
"What do you think she'd do if she found out her full name and that she was your teacher?" Stacie asked.
"I don't know," Beca sighed, "me and Chlo have talked about it but I have no idea how they'd react. I don't think they'd take it well but they've always wanted me to be happy so I guess they'd get used to it? Mom easier than dad," Beca chuckled.
"Yeah I think your dad would flip out man, big time," Stacie laughed.
"Yeah. But hey, graduation is soon and then we don't really have to be as careful,"
"They're going to find out one way or another, eventually," Stacie said.
"Yeah, I know..."
"Anyway, are you excited for graduation?"
"Out of this place? Dude I can't wait," Beca smiled.
"Me neither," Stacie grinned. The bell rang and dismissed them from class,
"Hey I'll be out in a bit, gotta make a delivery," Beca winked as she peeled away from Stacie.
"Laters," Stacie grinned. Beca continued on to Chloe's room and checked the time, she knew she had around 15 minutes before Chloe's tutoring students would come so she knocked and entered.
"Someone ordered a hot chick?" She joked.
"Must be someone else. Wrong room, try down the hall on the left," Chloe smiled, not taking her pen off of the paper she was writing on.
"You must be the one that ordered the purse then," Beca smiled as she waved the purse in front of Chloe's face before sitting on her desk.
"Oh that's where it is. I tore up my car looking for that this morning, thanks," Chloe smiled as she took it from Beca.
"You're welcome," Beca smiled back, "my dad found it though,"
"Does he know about us?" Chloe asked, finally lifting her head and pushing her glasses onto her head.
"No, not that I know. They didn't look inside apparently."
"Well that's go-"
"But... my mum does know I went out last night with someone called Chloe,"
"She ask anything more?"
"If you're pretty," Beca smirked.
"Oh and you're reply?" Chloe grinned.
"She's hotter than the fucking sun on a summers day, mom," Beca said dramatically.
"I approve," Chloe smirked, "it's fine though, there's loads of people called Chloe,"
"Only one I care about," Beca winked.
"Smooth Mitchell,"
"That's what they call me. I better go, bratty students bound to enter at any moment, kick their asses," Beca smiled as she kicked her leg out abruptly when she stood up.
"Yeah, they'd be so scared. Surprised they'd even be able to see you, you must be like a little spot below them," Chloe joked as she stood.
"Hey I'm not that small, more like a medium spot,"
"Whatever you say," Chloe smiled. The pair stayed in silence for a few minutes before Chloe spoke up,
"Hey, can I ask you something?" She said as she stood between Beca's legs.
"Always,"
"Why didn't you have sex with Sam? Stacie told me that you freaked or something, did you?"
"Funny story that," Beca sighed, "you really wanna know?"
"Yeah,"
"She was all over me, kissing me and everything and then she said 'you're so fucking hot', and in that exact moment , all I could think about was that night in your apartment when you said that to me, and I definitely couldn't sleep with her after that," Beca explained.
"Hmm that is quite a funny story," Chloe nodded, "you didn't sleep with her because you were thinking about me?"
"I was always thinking about you Chloe," Beca smiled lightly.
"Fuck. I've ruined badass Mitchell. She's turned all sweet and caring," Chloe joked, but Beca could see that the meaning was behind her eyes. Beca simply smiled with a laugh, she didn't normally reveal her feelings but after the rollercoaster ride she'd been on with Chloe she was learning to be more open about her feelings involving the redhead.
"I thought about you a lot too, for the record," Chloe winked.
"Course you did," Beca smirked.
"Cocky," Chloe grinned as she kissed the brunette.
"Mmm, better go," Beca said, checking the time as she pulled away, "laters Chlo," she smiled, kissing Chloe again before hopping off her desk and leaving. As she rounded the corner, Beca bumped into someone who was walking at speed.
"Hey, watch out," she spat.
"Nice to see you too Beca,"
"Oh, Jackie,"
"Miss me?" the blonde teased as she trailed her finger from Beca's collarbone to the top of her shirt before Beca batted it away.
"You wish," Beca scoffed, stepping aside and carrying on down the hall.
"I know what you're doing Beca," Jackie called out, causing Beca to turn around.
"Huh?" She called out.
"I know your secret, with that teacher. I know exactly what you're doing," Jackie pointed a finger accusingly at Beca, causing her mouth to drop slightly agape as she realised what Jackie had said. Before she could question her further, the blonde chuckled and spun on her heel, setting off the other way and leaving Beca standing, her mind reeling.'She couldn't know about me and Chloe, could she??'
