It had been two weeks since graduation, and two weeks since Beca found out that her mom knew about her and Chloe. The pair hadn't exactly talked in depth about what happened, Tracy had just told her daughter about how she knew. Beca should've known she wasn't doing the best job of hiding it, and she soon found that only her mom had looked in the purse and found out Chloe's name, and also found out she worked at Barden. All the older woman had to do then was make good assumptions, she already found that Beca was being tutored by Chloe and with the constant sneaking around, it wasn't hard to come to an answer. Tracy had explained to Beca about how she wasn't exactly mad, she was slightly concerned about the situation they were in as she was aware of the consequences, but Tracy had explained how she was a firm believer that nobody could choose who they loved, so if Beca loved Chloe then she would fully support them. Beca had opened up to her mother about the amazing journey the pair had been on, finally confessing that just before Beca's mom outed them, that she had confessed her love to Chloe and asked her to be her girlfriend, she'd explained about the playlist she had made the redhead, and about their first proper date.
So Beca sat on the edge of Chloe's couch, tossing an apple between her hands as she explained it all to Chloe.
"So you told her everything?" Chloe asked.
"Oh yeah Beale, I especially put emphasis on when Posen interrupted our little make out session," Beca rolled her eyes.
"Ok I didn't ask for the attitude," Chloe laughed.
"Eh, comes with the package," Beca winked as she smiled.
"Oh you're funny," Chloe smiled as she hoisted herself to sit on her kitchen island. Looking around she found herself thinking, and it didn't take long for Beca to realise her girlfriend's thoughts had drifted.
"What're you thinking about," the brunette smiled as she walked to Chloe and ran her hands up Chloe's thighs.
"Nothing really," Chloe shook it off.
"No come on, enlighten me," Beca grinned. Chloe sighed before she took one of Beca's hands in her own.
"I was just thinking. C-can you, imagine yourself here?" She questioned.
"Here?" Beca asked.
"Here."
"Chlo, of course I can. And at some point in my future I hope I will be here, maybe," the brunette smiled softly.
"Good," Chloe hummed.
"Dude it's like you think I'm going to go running off somewhere else, to someone else," Beca chuckled, "I'm here for as long as you'll have me,"
"Fucking hell Mitchell," Chloe laughed, "as much as I love you I really have turned you into some soppy little shit," she smiled softly.
"Oh yeah and I'll just pretend like I don't see you nearly crying, whatever," Beca smirked.
"You are something else," Chloe chuckled as she grabbed Beca's hand. The brunette smiled as she simply kept her gaze on Chloe's light blue eyes, crinkled due to laughter. After what seemed like minuted she let her eyes roll the the back of her head as she sighed, pulling Chloe off the counter.
"My mum'll be going crazy if we don't go, I'm sure dinner's on the table already," she hummed as she leant it and kissed Chloe.
"I'll get my shoes, are not in any way nervous?" the redhead asked.
"Not too nervous. She already knows some stuff about you, she's not angry, and I wouldn't care what she thought anyway,"
"And what about when your dad finds out?"
"Oh I'm sure me and mom can come up with some sort of cover story, I'm sure he'll love you so he shouldn't care,"
"Yeah well I'm not so sure," Chloe laughed as she pushed Beca out of her apartment and locked the door, following the brunette down the stairs until they reached the parking lot. She slid into the passenger side of Beca's Camaro with a smile as Beca's hand came across the console to squeeze her thigh gently before she kicked the car into gear and they headed to the Mitchell household.Beca swung the door open and followed Chloe in,
"Beca?"
"No it's a robber mom," Beca rolled her eyes.
"They better not steal my dinner," Tracy grinned as she came to lean against the kitchen door as she watched her daughter take Chloe's jacket along with hers, "nice to see you again Chloe," she smiled.
"And you, thank you for inviting me," Chloe smiled politely.
"Well I didn't mean for anything to be awkward, I'm a pretty chilled out Mom, right Becs?" Tracy winked at the brunette as she walked back into the room.
"Oh totally," Beca nodded mockingly.
"Dinner's nearly ready, take a seat at the table Chloe, Beca gimme a hand?" She asked as she spun round.
"Sure," Beca smiled, "make yourself at home," she continued, kissing Chloe on the cheek before following her mom into the kitchen. The four were about halfway through their meals, conversation had been flowing fairly well and Chloe's nerves had almost disappeared.
"So, Beca, may I ask when this started?" Tracy raised her eyebrows as she looked at the brunette.
"I told you mom, it's been up and down. Probably around six months ago," Beca shrugged, knowing that it was definitely longer but that her mom didn't exactly need to know an exact time, especially as the pair weren't even properly dating back then. Tracy nodded her head slowly in acknowledgement before eating another fork full of her food.
"How long have you been teaching?" She asked again, this time her question was directed towards Chloe.
"For around 4 years," Chloe smiled, "it was always my passion as a child, I knew I wanted to help people and then when I saw what my teachers did for me, I knew I had to follow that path," Chloe smiled broadly.
"Well it's always good to be in a job that you enjoy doing,"
"Yes, I love it," Chloe said as she took a quick glance at Beca with a knowing grin. Tracy smiled lightly as she happened to catch the exchange, she meant what she said when she believed that no one could choose who they love and she totally supported Beca and Chloe and she was happy that her daughter finally seemed happy. The rest of the meal went smoothly and soon Beca and Chloe were washing the dishes whilst Tracy took a break."See, that didn't go to badly did it," Beca teased, nudging Chloe with her hip.
"No," Chloe smiled.
"I sense a but coming,"
"But," Chloe smiled, "you still have to meet my family, who have no idea about any of this and I don't know how they'll take it," Chloe sighed.
"I love you Chloe. I know our situation wasn't exactly ideal but if you think about it they don't have to know that unless we decide to tell them, it's totally up to you what we do. But I know they mean a lot to you and I'm looking forward to whenever I meet them," Beca smiled as she handed Chloe the last plate and dried her hands, placing them on Chloe's hips from behind and feeling the redhead relax into her.
"I love you too, I'm just nervous y'know,"
"I get it, we'll work it out," Beca placed a kiss on Chloe's shoulder, "we better go see what my mom's up to,"
"Let's go," Chloe smiled as she took Beca's hand and led her into where Tracy was, joining her on the couch. She smiled at the pair as they sat down and secretly raised an eyebrow at Beca, who gave an nod as she let her arm rest on the back of the couch, absentmindedly running her fingers through Chloe's hair. She was happy that the dinner was successful, but now that Chloe had mentioned it, she started to feel nervous for what the Beale's would say. She let it slide as she realised that Chloe was laughing gently at something her mom had said, and she instead turned her gaze to her girlfriend, happy to finally be able to call her that.A/N:
