Chapter 7

Manik looked at Nandini who was hiding behind her desk which was basically idiotic since he can very well see her from his seat. He enjoyed what happened a few minutes ago, and if it wasn't for the video conference he had to attend, he would have surely teased her a bit more.

The other authorities that were having videoconference with Manik were very happy because the ice berg wasn't looking at them like he will freeze or more appropriately kill all of them for not working up to his expectations which were basically too far high up to reach.

Manik answered whatever they were talking about and basically gave himself a thumbs up seeing these people to even sweat while on video conferencing. The fear of not meeting expectations is always something that has toi be instilled in employees because when we fear being discarded, we would always try our best to reach every single expectation and work before deadline.

Manik enjoyed their worry sometimes, he sometimes does scares them but not always. Power is a factor that he enjoyed but in a limit.

Manik ended his conference and then looked at Nandini's side which was empty as apparently, she went to make his coffee to refresh from meeting and get ready for another.

Nandini entered his office as soon as he got up from his chair and kept his coffee at the table while telling him about his next meeting and presenting the topics that this meeting will deal with.

Manik listened carefully and also looked over all the papers prepared for this and also checked the translations that were to be made in the paper. This meeting is with the Japanese people for the new technology to be brought in India as this technology can help his company reach another level up.

Technology like touch screens, touch techs basically are too old now, it doesn't interest much people and he knew how to make all of it interesting. The new tech of advanced and innovative world is necessary in India.

Manik then looked at Nandini and stood up to stand behind her and as he stood behind her, she turned and both looked at each other for a while.

The eye lock broke because of someone's interruption and that person was our dear Cabir. Slow claps for Cabir for breaking our favourite couple away again‼

Manik looked at him murderously and as he moved away from Nandini who looked crestfallen at the entry of Cabir realised that they still had lots to talk to and was about to move out to give them some space but his hand was held back by Nandini. Manik turned to look at her and asked "what happened, Nandini?"

Nandini took a deep breath and said a single word that made Manik's heart beat 10x faster. All records broken...

"stay." Nandini looked at him and he too without another word made her seat and took a seat beside her but what was weird was he still held her hand and Nandini who noticed that shook her head. He is still taking advantage of her...

Cabir looked at them and their locked hands but he still noticed that the equation hasn't changed but just some need of protection called for Manik.

"Nandini, I know that me coming here isn't something you are enjoying and I know you are not really happy knowing about our history but Nandini, dad loved you and I do too. Chirag wasn't someone bad but he wasn't good either and you are not unwanted, I wanted you and loved you. I searched for you, Nandini. I waited and waited, but could never find you but I realised later, Sanam was a person who gave you the surname to make sure we won't be able to find you. We thought she... she... killed you but dad didn't believe it." Cabir had tears in his eyes but he just kept talking about how much they tried to search her.

"you know, I celebrated each and every birthday of yours but then nobody was there to celebrate mine and it felt so lonely. Manik was there but a family is a family and you know, I want you to be my family now. I am tired of looking at others with family, I want you to be there for me now. Please Nandini, accept me. Please, I beg you." Cabir looked at her, his eyes held pain of rejection and why wont he be in pain. He suffered too, he wasn't unwanted but he was still unloved by Chirag somewhere, he felt that disgust from him but when Nandini came, he felt loved, wanted because of how she would follow him. He felt her, her love for her big brother, a need. He wanted that back in his life. He doesn't have anyone who would wait for him anymore. He wants his baby sister back, someone to call family.

"I accept you." Cabir looked surprised as Nandini said those words but happiness comes with a but and here too she said her but "but I want some time, I'll be your family Cabir sir—let me complete, calling you with familiarity and love will take time. It isn't something that just comes to you, I lived all my life in orphanage where people would show you pity and I don't need any pity from anyone but I suffered too and not every pain ends just with uniting with your family. It will take time but let time make us family. I don't want to lose you because of any stupid thing." Cabir looked surprised at her last words but readily nodded whereas Manik was looking at her face and kissed her palm to which she looked at him and took her hand away from him. This guy and his lecher ways.
