"This is so bad. We're going to get fucking arrested!"
"Will you shut up already? I'm a professional."
"A professional, what? Car stealer??"
"You could say that. Now shut up so I can concentrate."
Currently, Harry and I are trying to steal a car. Well let me rephrase. Harry is trying to steal a car. I'm just over here freaking out.
Once Harry found out that I didn't have a car, he flipped out. I offered to borrow Liam's but he refused. Now here we are two blocks away from where I live, stealing a random car.
I'd never thought I would turn out to be a fugitive like my good for nothing father.
Harry snaps his fingers in front of my face. "Hello?? Pay the fuck attention Emma. The car is ready, now put your shit in the back and get in."
I go to correct him on my name but from the look on his face I decide against it. I put my bag on the back seat and quickly get into the passenger seat. As soon as my door closes Harry starts the car and speeds off.
As we get further and further away from my apartment complex, I feel the sudden urge to cry. What have I gotten myself into?
***
We've been driving for about 40 minutes when Harry let's out a long sigh. "Okay, we should be out of range now." I glance over at him. "What do you mean?" He looks at me for a minute before his eyes shift back to the road. "That doesn't concern you right now." I fully face him, glaring at the side of his stupid head. "Yes it does concern me! You basically kidnapped me and now we're driving to who knows where and running from who knows what! I have a fucking right to know Harry."Harry's grip tightens on the steering wheel, knuckles turning white. "If I told you, you would cry like a typical girl and try to run away even though you would probably be killed within the hour for even seeing my face. So no. You don't need to fucking know every little detail." I'm quiet at the thought of death but I quickly shake it off. "Can you at least tell me where we're going?" He rolls his eyes but complies. "We're on our way to a safe house. Though we will be meeting a couple people when we get there. They will protect you if I have to go out or something." I'm not sure what to say to that so I don't say anything. More people are going to be involved in this situation? Fucking hell, I hope they're not as frightening as Harry is. But with my luck, they'll probably be worse.
My thoughts are interrupted when my phone starts to ring. Before I can even go to answer it, Harry suddenly swerves hard onto the side of the road, slamming me against the car door despite having a seat belt on.
"Harry what the hell?" He turns to me looking absolutely livid. "You have a fucking cell phone on you?! Are you fucking stupid? Cell phones are literally the easiest thing to track! You could be leading them straight to us!" He holds out his hand for the phone, long fingers moving frantically. I think about not giving it to him but I already have a split lip from making him angry before so I'm not going to press my luck.
By now the phone has stopped ringing as I hand it to Harry. He takes out the battery in the back and crushes it in his fingers. Then he rolls down his window and chucks the phone clear into the woods. "Hey! I-" "Quit whining princess, I'll buy you another one." At this point I am tired, hungry, confused and possibly in shock considering that I haven't really reacted to the situation.
Harry starts to drive again and I notice him looking at me. "What?" He clears his throat. "Nothing." Not in the mood for his games, I close my eyes and relax against the seat. "Wake me when we get there." "Sure thing your highness." I stop myself from snapping at him. Maybe when I wake up, this will have all been a bad dream...
《A/N》
