11. Crown wars

Lord Francis sat in the church awaiting Professor Gulliver to place the crown upon his head just in time for the crown wars. His eyes locked with Victoria as she stood in the front row with the chosen servants. Just before the service he had to pick his cabinet to serve him during the crown war and until they closed the king's death. Picking Victoria as his head servant making Miss Florence look at her knowingly as she knew of Miss Teller's crush on Lord Francis before the Lady Niomi scandal. nudging her slightly Miss Florence tried to get her attention.

"I heard Gulliver sorted the Lady Niomi mess with Francis. I heard he told her it would be best for the house if she accept the affections of another to survive in this game." Miss Florence said

"Your not suggesting it was Gulliver who did this." Victoria mumbled back

"I wouldn't be surprised Miss Teller. I have seen the way he looks at you. He sees hope that you will become Queen not just of this house but of the whole game." Miss Florence adds and Victoria gasps just as Professor Gulliver placed the crown on Francis' head making everyone erupt.

"You have been reading to many gossip newspapers about this house Miss Florence. I could get you fired for not doing your job." Victoria scolds and Miss Florence pouts

" Face it Miss Teller. you know its true. doesn't it seem suspicious that shortly after you arrive King Cry baby mysteriously dies of poisoning and it has taken the detective weeks to even find a single piece of evidence. Everyone has an alibi but he still continues to search. Then Lady Niomi disappears from Lord Francis' life. He becomes King by Gulliver's request and you become head maid. Perfect position for Lord Francis to seduce you and make you lady in waiting. Oh wait your already besotted with him." Miss Florence says and Victoria interrupts her.

"Again enough of your stories Miss Florence. Your job is at stake." Victoria warns

"Let me finish. After the crown wars are over. Gulliver will make whoever he paid to stay quiet come forward about the King's death. It is resolved Francis has to step down as he is temporary as main house ruler then you being his lady in waiting becomes Queen , you rule together till you produce an heir or he dies. Then you become Queen till the heir is old enough if that's the way it goes." Miss Florence says

"You are being ridiculous its all those romance novels clouding your brain Miss Florence. Professor Gulliver wouldn't do that." Victoria rephrases

" He would for someone he wants to be Queen." Miss Florence ends and Francis Sit on the throne for the first time as king

"All hail King Francis of House Demure and bring on the crown wars!" Professor Gulliver shouts and everyone cheers catching Victoria's eye a glint of something reflecting in them.
