The Tale of the Marauders (Marauders Era Love story : Sirius/ Severus Fanfic)

The Sorting Hat

The train had finally made it's stop at Hogwarts. The platform was simple and was surrounded by a vibrant forest. Students began to exit the train and we followed suit. However, the platform was chaos as all the students piled onto it. Amidst the commotion, a large man with a giant beard and booming voice called for first years. 

"First yers, please fol'ow me. First yers come on ov'r here. I will lead you to the boats to Hog'werts. First yers fo'low me to the castle." the large man shouted. 

We quickly ran over to our guide and kept tightly together. We didn't want to be broken apart in the sea of scared first years. Lily held onto my hand and locked arms with severus on her right. I offered my hand to a nervous alice on my left, who gladly accepted and did likewise with Pandora.

"Helo, my name is Hagrid. I'm the keper of keys at Hogwarts and tend the grounds. Now you will take the boats to get to hogwarts. The docks are close by and the boats can only fit 5. Now stick together and fol'ow me." Hagrid instructed us in his charming and deep voice. 

After his introduction, I felt everyone's grip loosen. His appearance made him seem terrifying but his personality was the opposite. He was a giant teddy bear and I felt much calmer in his presence. We followed him to the docks and sat in boat three. The boat next to us, boat four, was quickly filled up. From the boat, I hear my name being called. I was confused a bit and stupidly turned around. 

"Wings, wings pleeasse. I'm sooo sorry. I shouldn't have yelled at you and you were completely right. I was being an absolute idiot, please forgive me please?" James pleaded. I could see that he was on the verge of breaking and I couldn't stand to break his heart. 

"Prongs, of course, I forgive you. You are my twin and I know that you'll be an idiot at times. Besides, I know that I have my moments too, so we're even. We wouldn't be good twins if we don't fight once in a while." I replied and sent him a giant smile. The gap between the two of us was small and we both reached to give each other hugs. Sirius held james while lily held me to keep us from possibly falling in. When we let go, the boats began to sail towards hogwarts. 

Everything about the school was enchanting. The majestic castle stood out amongst the lush mountains and forest. The sharp angles made it stand out along the smooth lake. The lake was a deep blue nearly black color. At times, we could swear that we saw something moving underneath. When I looked at James's boat, I saw that sirius was trying to rock it. The boys were trying to get him to stop and I assumed that they saw something in the lake too. I decided to help them and muttered a sentient hex. Pieces of the boat began to tie Sirius down and he finally stopped trying to capsize it. The boys mouthed 'thank you' to me and I bowed in response. The rest of my boat was enchanted by the school and didn't notice my feat. I was glad that they didn't since I didn't need to cause another fangirl moment from alice and pandora.

The boat ride was quick and we arrived at the docks. Hagrid then led us up the stairs toward the giant front doors of the school. Our group stayed together with james at our heels. Once we reached a set of gold doors, Hagrid then left us with an elderly woman in emerald green robes and went off down the hall.  

"Welcome to Hogwarts. I am Professor McGonogall, the head of gryffindor. At this school, you will treat your classmates with respect as you all begin your journey into amazing wizards. Behind me is the great hall, this is the room where you will have your meals with your classmates and hear any important news from the headmaster. Before you dine tonight, all of you must be sorted into your houses. Hogwarts has for main houses named after the four founders: Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin. Your house will be your family and your actions will determine if you house gains or losses points. The most diligent and rule obeying students will gain points and prestige, while the trouble makers will doom their houses. At the end of the year, the house with the most points will win the coveted house cup. I wish you all luck, now follow me." Professor McGonogall instructed us with her charming Scottish accent.
