The Tale of the Marauders (Marauders Era Love story : Sirius/ Severus Fanfic)

The First Day

Today was our first day. All of us had potions as our first class. Last night was very busy and I could use an extra hour of sleep. At 6am sharp, our clocks rang and sounded like a muggle car alarm. In my anger, I waved my hand and sent all the clocks flying against the wall. The girls looked at my in amazement from my display of my powers.

"I can only do small stuff with my hands like conjure up a snowball and do small spells. Trust me, I'm not going to be able to hex you."I told them as I ran in embarrassment towards the shower. I took a 5 minute shower and quickly brushed my teeth. I waved my hand over my hair and body. Once I did this, my uniform was on and my hair was pulled into a ponytail. I quickly went back to my bed to get my bag ready and wait for the others. The other girls got ready quickly and we had 20 minutes left to spare for a quick nibble. The three of us went to an almost empty great hall. It seemed that most of the students either had later classes or their sleep was more important.

We walked over to our normal table and found that 4 familiar boys had beaten us to it.

"Wings, lily, alice, I'm glad that you're up. I managed to save you all some light snacks from these pigs." James told us as he guarded some muffins. The boys chuckled at his back-handed comment and I saw a mischievous gleam appear in Sirius's eye. I sent him a giant smile as a premature thank you for whatever was going to happen today. After we downed our muffins, the seven of us ran to potions.

When we arrived, we had ten minutes to spare and rushed inside to find seats. Most of our class was already seated and we began to scan for empty seats. The boys took an empty table for four. At the table next to them, there were only two seats available with some hufflepuffs. One of them was about to give up his seat for me but he was stopped by someone shouting.

"You can sit down. Liza there's an open seat here for you."a female voice commanded. I turned around and saw that it was Narcissa. The open seat was with severus and he was pleading with me to take it. I merrily skipped over to them, ignoring my absolutely fuming brother's stares.

"I'm glad that you're my partner. It's nice to work with someone I trust."Severus said as he gave me a giant hug.

"Me too. I'm glad that you like me so much." I muttered since my face got buried in his robes. Narcissa gave us a tap to warn us that class was starting. We broke up our hug and began to get our potion books open. At that time, a round and short man entered the room.

"Hello class. My name is professor Slughorn. I will be your potions master and look forward to working with all of you. The art of potions is meticulous and requires a great amount of patience. Today I will give you a simple potion to gauge your aptitude. Today you will brew a minor healing draught, which can be found in page 33 of your books. You may begin." Professor Slughorn announced as he slumped in his chair.

Severus and I quickly got to work. We worked extremely harmoniously as we passed ingredients in sync. Narcissa and Malfoy were a disaster. I heard Malfoy constantly trying to boss a fuming Narcissa, who evenly gave up. Across from us, I heard lily and Alice giggling a bit as they worked. I heard peter read the instructions to Remus as they worked. The largest commotion came from my brother and sirius. I heard them constantly yelling at each other and blaming each other for their disastrous concoction. I could help but laugh at their frustration. After 30 minutes, we had finished our potion. I called over Professor Slughorn to examine it. He waddled over and stirred our mixture.

"Now we just need to test it. Ms. Potter would you allow me to prick your finger please?"Professor Slughorn sweetly asked. I complied and offered my left index finger. He pricked my finger with a sewing needle and placed the tip of it in our potion. I felt my finger get warm and a stitching sensation. Once he removed it, I saw that my finger was completely healed. Both severus and I lit up in excitement at our successful potion.
