Liza P.O.V I felt so embarrassed after the party. I rushed out to avoid being seen crying my eyes out. I ran around the castle trying to find a hidden place. I couldn't go to the room of requirements since lily had already alerted the boys.
I eventually found a spare room on the fourth floor, far from the tower. The door creaked open & i slipped past the narrow crack. As i closed it, I worried that someone heard. Luckily, I was all alone & breathed a sigh of relief.
The chilly room forced me to grip onto my shawl tighter. I began to inspect the room & found old furniture. The floor was stone while the mural walls had a lower stone portion. Ivy designs were carved into it. Chips of paint remained on some branches but most of it had faded.
Everything was well cared for underneath the white sheets. The fireplace was dusty but the chute was open. I started a fire to warm myself up. I quickly realised this was an abandoned common room. Once toasty, I began to explore more.

The common room looked like it hadn't been used in decades. It had a similar layout to mine. It was probably the only functional design being in a tower. I went up the steps to the girls' dormitory & found a few rooms. Like the lounge, the furniture was draped & protected. The fireplaces in the centre were rusted & unusable. Portraits were taken off the wall which was strange. I tried to check out the boys but the enchantment was still on. I quickly slipped down the stairs & landed harshly on my bum.
"Ouch." I groaned as I got up
I landed near the fireplace & felt a draft. I felt around the wall & felt a crack. The draft was strong from there. I looked for a handle but there wasn't anything. I decided to give it a push & the hidden door slowly opened. I had to put my whole body into it for it to open wide enough. The room was pitch black so I'd need my wand. Before entering, I checked the room for something heavy to prop the door. I found a heavy end table & slid it into the crack.
"Luminos." I muttered as I stood at the doorway. With a light, I climbed over to investigate.
It was another lounge which was converted into storage. The large glass windows were boarded up tightly, explaining the lack of light. The numerous boxes had piles of dust on it. I slowly walked forward until I noticed a spiral staircase in the back. I followed the stairs to an office which was cleared out except for a tall mirror in the centre.
The windows here weren't boarded. The moonlight shone through the stained glass windows in the octagonal room. It was depicting the death & rebirth of a phoenix. The ornate columns were in each corner while a large silver chandelier swung from the ceiling. After taking in the room, I approached the mirror. I went to pull back the curtain before a section of the wall opened up. I yelped in fright as two shadowy figures emerged.
"Liza get away from that mirror!" Grandma commanded as she & Grandpa stepped into the light
"What's wrong with it?" I replied as I walked to them
