The 4th year was starting to get chaotic. Classes were piling up. I could always drop an elective but I enjoyed my subjects. I had the normal core classes with everyone. But our electives were all different. Lily, Pandora, Alice & I continued with care of magical creatures. Pandora & I signed up for ancient runes while Lily & Alice were in divination. Lily dropped muggle studies to have more free time. I envied her freedom as my classes, quidditch & being Slughorn's assistant monopolised every second.

The boys kept a loose schedule with only one or 2 electives. James & Sirius we're still devoted to terrorising the school. With me less available, the four of them were busy. But, I was happy to give some ideas & work out the plan at night. Our grandparents were taken aback by how dedicated we were to pranks. They knew I was helping but didn't understand how I still had time. But, we were getting less detention thanks to the map & cloak. The few times we were caught, they weren't surprised. They even joked that we were losing our edged. Of course, we worked harder much to their dismay.

Every month, we helped Remus with his transformations. He was thankful for our efforts in keeping him safe. We were lucky that no one came near the Willow or Shrieking Shack. The only problem we were having was Severus snooping around. James was relentless in bullying him. Of course, Sirius was quick to join in but the others had sense not to. I was constantly brokering peace between the 3 of them. The only time I could get peace was separating them for a few moments. Any of my free time was spent avoiding my brother & friends. But, I had plenty of places to hang around in & loads of friends to share time with.

Everyone was getting new friends as we started a fresh year. Fred Longbottom was a new friend to James & I. But, I noticed that he was taking a liking to Alice. Lily, Pandora & I teased her about it to get information. But, she insisted they were just friends. I managed to befriend Barty Crouch. Everyone else disliked him for his loner tendencies. I did understand their apprehension about his inkling for the dark arts. But, he was so charming & sweet to me. I had faith that he wasn't awful like Bellatrix & Malfoy.

Speaking of the devil, Malfoy was getting closer to Narcissa. I knew their families were a good match. But, it hurt to see her accepting his dumb flirts. She kept assuring me that he couldn't break our friendship. I didn't doubt her but couldn't stand having Malfoy around. For my sanity, she made sure when & for how long he was tolerable. Keeping on the path of morons, James was flirting away with Lily. Like the past few years, he was getting nowhere. But, it was funny seeing him try.

Sirius was still dating away the entire school. When he wasn't in a relationship, he was trying with me. I laughed off his advances but James was furious. He was watching like a hawk when the 2 of us were alone. It was only in the common room due to my erratic schedule. Sirius's flirts also angered Sev. He would gag or physically pull me closer at every pass. I was so confused by his reaction. I thought he was all for Lily. But, he kept acting like I had a chance. Remus & Lily noticed my discomfort. They took turns distracting the pair which I was grateful for.

Right now I focused on setting up Slughorn's classroom with Sev. He needed it ready for the 1st years coming in after lunch. Most of the pots could be cleaned with magic. But, a few were so burnt that we had to scrape them clean. By the end my hands were cramped. Sev gave me the easy job of passing him tabletop equipment.

"You're holding your hands like a burn victim." He teased

"It was a deep bowl. I like being thorough. Did you break a sweat on your set?" I countered

"Yes, look at the perspiration." He replied, using a book to point at one bead

"Yeah that's nothing. Don't try giving me grief about my hands." I noted
