James and I continued avoid each other. I didn't mind it at all since I could actually enjoy being with my friends. We nicknamed ourselves the Masters of Hogwarts since each one of us was from almost all the houses excluding hufflepuff. Our group consisted of myself, lily, Alice (gryffindor), pandora (ravenclaw), cissy and sev (slytherin). We all got along fairly well and cissy made sure to keep the pure blood mantra in her head. I knew that she and Lily hated each other but was happy that they didn't constantly fight for my sake. Sev noticed the tension too and helped by being peace maker. James would try to make small talk when we would bump into each other. However, I always kept our exchanges short as the others made clever excuses for me. The six of us would either relax by the lake or visit Hagrid, who would chase the boys away. At meal times, we would rotate between sitting at the gryffindor, ravenclaw and slytherin tables. It was nice to meet and make friends with people outside my house except Sev and Cissy would have to protect the rest of us, especially myself and lily, from their housemates. I hoped that I didn't get them in trouble or ostracise them more.

I was extremely happy in my little group which made the month pass by quick. We helped each other in our classes and quickly made it to the top together. Pandora was extremely useful in our Defense Against the Dark Arts class since the Professor seemed intent on failing the Gryffindors. My parents wrote weekly to keep track of us and ensure that we didn't cause more trouble. From the letters, I was able to be updated on James since we still barely spoke. He was doing only average in school thanks to Remus and Peter. My mom wanted us to make up soon since he was clearly depressed. I wanted to forgive him but his arrogance was too much, especially since I had enough. Though, I didn't want him to waste the year because of our petty fight. I decided that we would talk before bedtime, so I went about my day normally.

After dinner, the girls were prepared to spend our Friday night gossiping. I would have joined them but I need to speak to James. I explained to them why I was going to be late and they hesitantly let me go. James was brooding by the fireplace with the guys as I approached them.

"Hey boys. Can I steal my twin for a second?" I asked them. They were startled at first but silently dispersed to their dorm. Everyone else was in their rooms so we had the lounge to ourselves. James remained silent so I decided to speak first.

"You don't look so good. Don't you sleep or eat?" I commented

"Why would you care? I thought that you were having the time of your life with your gang." James snapped as he stared at the fire.

"You're my brother. I'm always going to care just like you do with me. Even though, you can be extremely annoying and full of yourself." I retorted with my arms crossed.

"I guess that's why we're family. There's hardly anyone else who can stomach us for a while." James replied as he laughed. I joined in too and sat next to him in front of the fireplace.

"I'm sorry for being so rude. I didn't mean anything that I said. I was just being a stupid jerk like always." James apologised

"Me too. I shouldn't have escalated things by beating you up. Though, its my job as your sister to literally knock some sense into you. Trust me I'm happy to do that for free and permanently." I replied as I gave him a playful nudge. We spent the rest of the evening catching up by the cozy fireplace. Eventually, we fell asleep buried in blankets and pillows.

After our reconciliation, the rest of the year went by quickly and I had even more fun than before. I joined in on the pranks with the boys while making study groups with my own group. I had a blast raising hell in potions and brightening the mood in DADA, despite the professors scowls. James, Sirius and I quickly became her enemies since we couldn't resist being the class clowns. With us talking again, James's grades were improving a lot, mainly due to him and Sirius copying off of me. Everyone was enjoying the peace and quiet as we returned to our normal selves. Our grandparents were extremely happy with our behaviour but wished that we would lay off the prank.
