Coincidences

Act XLVII

Recess. I left the hectic room and walked around. The schedule was still not fully developed, so we have an additional full hour to our break. I ended up in front of the bathroom where I first hung out on my first day. Also the one where I ditched Rocky. I inserted some change to the vending machine, still functional, and grabbed the same drink from last time. I don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but I think, if you do it on purpose, it isn't, right? Trying to put my entries to a minimum.

A sip or two later, I met up with the Rimsons. They took a drink for themselves, and they joined me.

Tyrone gushed the mineral water down, finishing it halfway. "So, what did he tell you?" questioned he.

"Huh?" I asked, unable to process.

"The principal, doc, whatever."

"He was also a cop," I informed. They didn't ponder much about it though.

"Yeah, whatever. Are you gonna tell us or what?" joined in Rocky in a rude manner. He drank some soda while ironically chewing on some Mentos gum. Never put those two words together in the same sentence.

I shrugged, "Not much, just came to the topic of our nicknames." I knew they knew what I meant, and we, deep inside us, felt utterly annoyed.

"Ok, now, seriously. What did he say?" insisted they.

"Nothing," but I knew they wouldn't budge. I let out a sigh, saying, "Us. You, me, Zoey. Small talk. No biggie."

"You sure?"

"Uh-huh."

They looked at each other and made disappointed faces. The two turned to me.

Ty admittedly said, "Looks like we can't make you."

"Unless I beat the sh*t out of you," Rocky intimidated. Woah, there.

We let a long pause filling in the gap until fifteen minutes passed. We were wasting time standing in place. Anxiously eager to get moving, possibly away from the gaze of passersby, I offered,

"Hey, wanna go to the roof?"
