Martin didn't showed up after that. He didn't come to school and never called me, nor did he send me a message. No one ever heard of him yet, as to why he was absent.

This was a bit concerning. He seemed to have taken in the fact that Ty and I were together badly. It's natural to react like that, if you just heard that the person you liked went out with another person. It's natural that he would be heartbroken. I'm sorry about that, then, but a few questions came to mind. Is he purposely avoiding me? If so, then, why did he say that he didn't want to be lonely? That would be against what he said. What really are his intentions?

This issue about Martin is really troubling me. Perhaps, this is what Ty meant about him being a troublemaker.

"How are you?" The voice startled me for a sec. I looked up and saw Ty, who was standing in front of me in silence.

"Oh, fine. I guess," I told him. "Martin's not here, huh?"

Ty spun around to check. "Yes, I can see that."

I sighed, distressed, "Martin came to my front door yesterday. He asked about us. Then, he said the weirdest thing."

"What is it?" He took the nearest chair and sat down next to my desk. "You can tell me anything."

"Ok, let's start from the beginning. He came over and asked me if you and I were together. I couldn't lie to him. I don't know why. I told him the truth and just stood there. When I thought he was done, that he accepted us, he said, out of nowhere, if we could remain as friends. He said that..." I stopped, all of the sudden.

"What else did he say?"

Slowly, while thinking it through, I continued, "He said that he didn't want to be lonely."

He inhaled deeply and breathed out, "Kinda expected that, to be honest. He really doesn't want to be lonely."

"What do you mean?" I asked. "Doesn't he have you?"

"Never mind that, it's meaningless." He arose, heading his way back to his spot. "It's about to be time for the next class."

I didn't notice the time flying by. "Right." I took my notebook and prepared for Math.
