"Achoo!"

The cold won't stop, and my throat is aching like crazy. I've taken some pills already, but I don't feel any better. My runny nose is full of mucus, my head is literally devastated right now. This is not good for me.

A week has passed since this happened. It has also been a week since the last time I saw any of them. They must be having the time of their lives, seeing that I'm not around. I haven't told them about my sickness yet, but I think they can take a hint. Except for Rocky's call a few days ago, no one has even tried to call me at all, so, if they do know, they just really don't care about me, then.

"Achoo!!!"

I took a tissue skillfully with a flick of a wrist, and I blew my nose to relieve myself. Noticing that it was the last one ever, and the snot continued to cascade down my nostrils, I blew on my shirt, out of desperation.

I shouted for Dad, "No more tissues! Again!" and I laid my head back. A few footsteps later, he came a-running to me, holding yet another box of Kleenex.

"Martin," he warned. "This is the last one. I don't wanna go to the supermarket again fo buy some more. Try to save some."

"It's not like I can help it, Dad," said I, taking the new one and, soon, blowing my nose once more.

I must have looked like a total wreck. I mean, the room was disorganized, trash was everywhere, and my face couldn't look any worse. It may have looked like I was going through a heartbreak. Maybe, but I got my cold to cover that up.

Dad leaned against the door, intently staring at me, and said, "Must be boring to lay around in your room all day. Have your friends greeted you already?"

I don't know, if it's the cold or the topic, or not, but I grumpily replied, "I have no idea. I'm not feeling well."

"Well," he sighed. "I guess there is nothing we can do about that." He spun his way back outside. "Get well soon. They'll be eager to see you."

What makes you say that? I have enough things to think about already. I just wanted a break. I put on my earphones and listened to some music.

"Achoo!!!" This one was way louder.
