I stood outside, waiting for anyone to open up. In a couple of seconds time, sure enough, she was there. Zoey was by the door, baffled as to why I was on their porch.
"What brings you here, Martin?" she asked, looking at me, from head to bottom. "You're all soaked."
She was right. I rushed over in a hurry, not caring about the rain. I lost my common sense, even forgetting to bring a raincoat or an umbrella. I wanted to talk to her. I wanted to, by the least, hear about it from her.
"Never mind about it," I said, anxious to get to the point. "I just wanna know. Straight from you, Zoey."
"About what?" said she, pretending to not have a clue about what I'm saying, I think.
I exhaled deeply, "Are you and Ty together?"
There was a moment of silence, but, in that very moment, it's as if time and space were bent. distorted. Everything in the universe happened in an instant, all in the same time, while nothing stayed putt in frozen time.

I couldn't lie at all. I couldn't keep it inside my chest; it grew heavier and heavier, when I heard that from him. I told him the truth, "Yes, we are."
He couldn't believe what he was hearing. He was as shocked as I was just now. He was tense before, but his facial expression became more reluctant and loosened up. "I see. Then, congrats," he mumbled.
"I'm sorry, Martin, that I didn't tell you earlier." I set my hand behind my neck. "I should've told you, but I..."
"It's okay," he interrupted, setting his eyes on the floor. "I'm happy for you two."

"I just want to ask you one last thing."
"What is it?" she questioned. She seemed really sorry, like she wanted to make up for what she did, at least.
"If you two are officially a couple, can I ask you this? Can we... stay friends?"
She was confused with what I just said. "What do you mean, 'stay friends'?"
I turned around to leave. "That's all I'm asking. Just... be my friend. I just..."
"What?"
"Don't want to be alone anymore."
I ran home as fast as I can, not because it was still drizzling, but because I just wanted to leave, go away, escape. I can't take this anymore.
This is the end.
