Gibber looked over at Hailey with a smile. "We would go to help in the battle but we are weak. If they found out they would probably kill us. You see that right?"
Hailey nodded. All she can think about is what the two of them did to the seven grownups. It wasn't right. It wasn't possible. How come the two of them didn't die?"
"Yea. Just can't believe that this is really happening. Daniel means a lot to me now. The voice won't shut up. The light hurts but I dont break out. Why?"
"Tolerance I guess. Some people are just lucky. We dont want to die anymore than the diseased behind the walls. Nothing ever really wants to die. You've seen it. I've seen it." Xian says rubbing her ankle. "They may be considered our brothers and sisters now but we have to kill them. They are no more than savage animals now. We take satisfaction in helping them like that now."
"What is life without death. We can't do anything more but to use our new ability for good." Gibber finished off the speech, staring at the sky.
"Ow." Hailey says and goes quiet. She wonders about everyone who is protecting all the others. Who she may never see, barely even half of anyone there. Will she never see Daniel again? This thought gives her great grief.
Xian is just sitting there being held by Gibber. So cute. Hard to tell that they are different. They just look like normal kids. Earlier it was like they were master criminals in some high class organization.
"Hey? Can you hear me?" A voice said in her head and it sounds like Xians. She looks over to find her smiling and responds with a nod.

The sun is going down over the bridge. The darkness is stunted by the fires of explosives that shook at the beginning. The leaders are still going strong in the fight.
Daniel is hacking away with his machete. Each swing burns his muscle's. His clothes drenched in blood like everyone else. The bastards make a thick wall out of their bodies and force him back. Each time one falls another takes its place. Backing up he bumps up against a charred car.
The metal digs in his back and he screams. Trying to push forward they press up against him driving it deeper inside him.
"Help me!" Daniel cried trying to fight them back. He can feel himself getting weak. A mother takes his machete and the other force onto him. "Damn."
"Daniel!" Jack yelled looking in a panic trying to find him. Marcy fighting at his side with a spear doing her best to hold them back.
They were separated a few minutes ago. The crowd had drove them back and Daniel forward.
"Forget about him, Jack. He will turn up soon." Marcy grunted thrusting her spear in a mother and twisting to pull it back out.
"I have to find him, Marcy."
"No, if we split up we die. We will move as a team if you insist." Marcy had cut off his next sentence. Her eyes fixed on the targets ahead. A line of children battling to push them back.
Isaac is still in his perch on a billboard shooting into the crowd. He finds a mother with a machete in the crowd and kills her on sight. He finds Marcy amd Jack moving farther in the crowd moving swiftly towards a burned out car. He follows them with the scope. At the car there is Daniels severed head on top of the car.
Isaac swore a famous F word under his breath and pulles the scope away. He wiped the sweat from his forehead. Something was shining in the crowd. Flashes of light and bodies falling. Whos bosies though?
Putting the scope back up he finds a kid teem with the name Mclaine in green on his hoodie. Blood dripping from his mouth made him lock on.
Mclaine is fighting furiously with a group of kids. Slashing out at them with his two knifes. He takes one down who had a spear and pulled back. He stands there as his reinforcements comes in from all side. As he stands there he takes the shot dropping him like a sack of potatopotatoes.
An infected with weapons like the one before. Very strange. Ome less leader they gotta worry about.
The army comes to a halt. Looking confused and completely bewildered by where they are at. It is like a spell that has been broken.
Arrows start to come out of nowhere amd fall upon them. Gun shots stirred the crowd making the infected go crazy.
Isaac put Anna's rifle down and leans against the bill board. He can't look at it anymore. He saw lots of dead kids he didn't know. He found Daniels severed head. Nyla and her leaders disappear in the horde. So many deaths. He can't remeber how many have died already.
The enemy begins to fall back amd the kids advance to make sure the fight is won. Eight long gruesome hours have finally came to an end.
