"Ok. So you want me to go capture you some live bastards right?" Daniel said looking at Jeremy like a moron.
"Yes. I need them for my experiments. It is important to find potential weaknesses and ways to stop them." Jeremy said looking  impatient. "All you have to do is capture three and chain them inside one of the trucks we found."
"Ok. I'll go hunt you some bastards, but I expect results from this project, Jeremy." He saic looking at all the other scientists.
"We will don't worry. The science labs still have a gas flow and thanks to that spare generator we can wotk more efficiently without losing research."
Daniel smiled half hearted and gave him a thumbs up. He went outside to see a bunch of little kids beat a bastard with bat in the road. "Hey, don't kill him, I need that."
"Why do you need this ugly thing?" Xian yelled about to smash his head.
Evil little kids aren't they. They all paused and a couple of guards went to get the battered body. It is a short one and looks like he hasn't eaten in weeks. All the fight has left him. Now he just stands there defeated with scrapes and bruises.
"Tie him up in the back of the trunk and give it a couple of squirrels." He told the two boys. One has him in an arm bend. The other making sure he doesn't try anything. "This specimen is for the science unit. I need two more of them if you all can manage."
Marcy lept off the roof of the school into a square shrub. "Can you tell me why you're capturing that thing?"
"To help Jeremy with his lab. We got nothing better to do, so why not know why they are or figured out better ways to kill them."
She let out a sigh. "Ok. We will start to help Jeremy with his project for fun. I expect results from it though."
"Thats what I told him. Do you want to jump them with me?" Daniel asked running his hand through his hair.
"Yea, why not. Beats sitting here all day long. Lets try the main road. The things are probably feasting on the bodies we left there. Or just wandering around. Let me get my spear." And Marcy ran inside.
Jack is still hanging over the edge of the wall they built for the archers. "What are you to doing?"
"Getting ready to set out to jump a couple od bastards, wanna join?"
Jacks face lit up with joy. He jumped of the roof with the machete in his hand. "I love that shrub. If I properly want to catch one I guess this wouldn't be much use let me go get a spear." Then he too went inside.
The kids are now playing tag. Bats lay in the grass in a pile. Xian and Gibber are not playing though. They just sit against the wall chatting about something. Laughing and joking around with each other.
It's great to see the kids don't have to worry much about the dangers outside the wall. Daniel thought to himself.
