Chapter 16

I was getting ready for Prom and just as I was about to go pick up Emily. My mother stopped me and tidy me up. "Your so handsome. I can't believe you are already going to your senior prom," she said. "Thanks Mom. Can I go now? I need to go get Emily," I told her. "Ok fine just one more picture.," She said. "That's like your fifthteenth picture mom," I complained. A bright flash hits me and I hear my mother laugh and say, "ok, I guess you can go now, but don't have too much fun, okay. Bye sweetie," she says as she waves to goodbye. I waved back glad that I could still see from the flash of the picture. I drove off towards Emily's house thinking about how a wonderful night it was going to be with Emily.

I got to Emily's house and knocked on her door. Emily answered it in the beautiful gown she picked out. It was gorgeous on her. Her hair pulled up in a perfect bun with tiny flowers in it, with just two curly hair strands next to her face. She didn't have too much makeup on but just enough to make her glow like angel and yes, there was some blue in her eyes the gown definitely showed it. I didn't realize I was staring until I saw her blush. I cleared my throat and said, "are you ready my darling?" She laughed and said, "ready as I'll ever be," and took my hand. We walked to my car and drove to the school. I parked the car and got out. I walked around the car and opened Emily's door. I held out my arm to her and she took it. I closed her door and we walked into the school gym. Lights were strung all over the ceiling. It was beautiful. I looked down at Emily. The lights shadowed her face just right and made her look like an angel. "I didn't think it was possible, but you look even more beautiful," I said with a smile. She hooked her fingers in mine and lead me to the dance floor. Just then my friends walked passed us making kissy noises.

Why did they always make kissy noises? A slow song came on and I turned to face Emily. I put my hands on her waist and she put her hands on my shoulders. She looked up at me through her lashes and smiled. Man, how did I get so lucky. The song ends and I say, "Do you want some punch?" "Yeah. Thank you," she said and gave me a hug, "You're the best boyfriend ever." I hug her back, blush, and say, "And you're the best girlfriend I could ask for." She smiles her beautiful, crooked grin and lets go. I walk over to the refreshment table and get two cups of punch. I start to walk back to Emily when I see Ben dancing with Kylie. He grins at me but Kylie just gives me the death glare. I reach Emily and hand her one of the punch cups. "Thanks, JayJay," she laughed. I was about to call her MeeMee when she stood on her tiptoes and kissed my cheek. I blushed and she laughed. I couldn't let her get the last laugh. Another slow song came on. I grabbed her punch cup and set it and mine down on a table. "May I have this dance," I said and bowed. "Why of course," she said and curtsied. I lead her to the dance floor and put my hands on her hips. She jumped and grinned up at me. She put her hands around my neck. It sent tingles through my body and I grinned. Now it was time to make her blush. I leaned down slowly, bringing my lips to hers. I pulled her closer and she smiled. I could feel her face was hot, mission accomplished. I didn't pull away quite yet, I was enjoying the kiss too much. Suddenly I heard a rude, fake cough. Emily pulled away slowly and we both looked to where the cough came from. It was Jessica and her entourage. "What do you want Jessica," I said quite rudely. "I was wondering if you wanted to dance with me," she said. She grabbed my arm and tried to pull me away from Emily. I yanked my hands from hers and put it protectively around Emily. "Stop trying to steal my boyfriend," Emily said with anger in her voice. I smile to myself. Emily's phone beeped and a tear escaped her beautiful eyes. I glare up at Jessica, "Stop texting her these horrible things," I said in a deep, angry voice. "Woah there tiger," She said. Jessica pulled out her phone and said,

"It's not me." Then she flipped her hair and walked away.

I was shooting some hoops in the school gym, while I waited for Emily so we can walk to my house to work on some homework. I heard footsteps in the hallway. I looked over at the door hoping it was Emily. Instead I saw Jessica walk in with Kylie. Kylie stopped at the door and Jessica walked towards me. "Hey Jacey, " she cried resting her hand on my arm. I shrugged it off and said, "What do you want Jessica?" She looked back at Kylie and Kylie nodded. 'What was going on?' I thought. Jessica turned back to me and gave me a flirty smile. She started to lean in closer towards me. Emily had just walked in when Jessica put her lips on mine.
