Chapter 15

Darren and Jack took me back to the mansion. While I was unconscious, Jack had packed a bag for me and thankfully grabbed my school bag. He really did know me all too well.

We were now sitting in one of the many livingrooms at the mansion with a doctor sitting in front of me. It was completely decked out in maroon and navy colors. The walls were a beige color with landscape paintings dining every part of them.

I heard Jack say he was the pack doctor and fellow wolf which made me even more irritable. I would never get away from these damn wolves.

"Should you be working on actual people? I mean a vet is hardly qualified to AHHHHH!" I yelled because the doctor reset my shoulder.

"That hurt!", I bitched to him.

"Not bad for a vet right?" He asked we smiling. He was African American with short grey hair and glasses. He seemed nice but I know he enjoyed my pain.

"And you!" I looked at Darren pointedly, "Stop biting me you freak."

"You are mine and you need to know it. You will not leave here, there will always be a guard outside of your room and if I let you venture out of the mansion you will go with Jack or myself." Darren ordered.

"Fat chance I'll go anywhere with you after the vamp attack on my neck but thanks for your concern." I sneered.

"This is not a fucking game Grace! You almost died disobeying my orders! Look around you! We are not normal, you are not normal and Travis is obviously willing to get to you in any way he can. So wake the fuck up." Darren yelled.

The doctor was dabbing at my neck wound carefully. I winced and rolled my eyes.

"Maybe if you weren't such a grade A asshole I might listen to you. Which by the way, quick fucking ordering me around." I yelled at him.

Darren stomped over to where I was on the grand, leather couch, grabbed my arm and pulled me.

"Get off!" I screamed.

"Wait! I wasn't done!" I heard the doctor say.

Darren ignored the doctor since I guess he thought I was well enough to treat like a rag doll. He had dragged me out of the living room and up the stairs to my ominous room. Darren pushed me toward the bed and slammed the door, turning around with anger in his eyes.

"You will stay in this room and I don't want to hear any bullshit back talk coming from your mouth, got it?"

"What the hell is your problem?" I asked slowly so he could understand.

"Your safety is of the upmost importance to me and you have almost gotten yourself killed twice now!"

"Ha! Like you give a rat's ass about my well being. You just like someone to tell what to do and keep locked away! This is kidnapping." I moved towards the door and he grabbed me.

"Let me go." I said.

Darren just stared down at me, anger residing and worry took it's place. He didn't have to say anything because I knew even though he was back and forth in how he treated me, he really did care.

"Let go." I said weakly.

"No." He replied and then he leaned down to kiss me.
