Chapter 16
I thought our kiss was not going to last that long but I was wrong. The ignored desires rooted deep down inside both of us was making it's appearance; and it was getting hotter by the minute.
Darren brought his hands to my waist, slightly lifting me up so my legs could encircle his waist.
Our kisses were getting more needy as we backed up towards the bed. He gently laid me down and stopped our kissing.
Darren looked into my eyes as his hand moved stray hairs from my face.
"I want you." He said.
I lost all of my words so all I did was nod in response.
"All you have to do is say stop and I will."
I nodded again and he wasted no more time. Darren kissed me ferociously and his hands wandered over my body. I tried to be quiet but this man brought out the darker side of me and I moaned into his kissed, pushing myself up to meet his warm body.
He pushed my shirt up slowly over my ribcage and grabbed an expecting breast, just like in my dream.
My own hands pushed at his shirt impatiently until he slightly lifted upwards so I could push it over his head. His body was amazing, tanned and toned. His hard muscles rippled with very little movement and I could do nothing but stare. My staring was short lived though because he was pulling my own shirt up and over my head.
I grabbed him by the shoulders and tugged him more onto the bed so he was completely on top of me. His eager fingers went for the button of my jeans and they opened with no protest.
Darren bent down and kissed a line from beneath my breast to the top of my underwear as he slowly slide my pants down.
My pants were at my ankles as he nipped at the fabric of my underwear and that's when we heard it.
"Grace Palmer, I know you're in this house so get your ass down here!"
My eyes were as big as saucers and Darren gave a frustrated growl.
"Shit." I said aloud. It was my grandmother.

Darren and I raced to put our clothes back on and in my haste down the stairs I tripped. Thank goodness for Darren grabbing me or I would have face planted for all to see.
A few pack members littered the hall, obviously trying to see what was going on and Jack stood by my furious grandmother.
As I made it to the bottom of the stairs, my grandmother grabbed a hold of my arm and yanked me down the hallway.
"What is everyone's problem with yanking me places? Learn about personal space, geez!" I said as my grandmother took us to the kitchen.
I knew at least Darren was following us because I heard his warning growl follows down the hallway.
"Sit." My grandmother order and she slammed me onto a stool.
She swung her carpetbag of a purse up onto the counter and began to rummage through it.
Darren came to stand beside me with one hand on my shoulder. I looked up and straight into his eyes.
His grey eyes looked suspicious and a little territorial. He mouthed the word 'mine' and I gave a small smile. No! Wipe that smile off your face!
I quickly turned to my grandmother and she made a satisfied sound when she found what she was looking for.
She pulled out a red velvet satchel and dug her hand into it. When her hand reappeared it looked like a bunch of dead grass and dirt but that didn't stop her from grabbing my open mouth and jamming that nasty shit into it.
"Ew!" I sputtered. I tried to spit it out but my grandmother held my mouth tight.
"Swallow!" she demanded.
I tried to break free but my hands were suddenly cemented to the counter top and my legs felt like dead weight.
"Swallow now!" she said again.
I swallowed when I realized I had no choice. None of the others, including the other wolves lingering around the kitchen, had moved to help me. The dazed expressions on their faces probably had something to do with it.
When Darren was able to move again, he grabbed my face and looked at it with concern etched into his eyes.
"What did you give her?" he growled at my grandmother.
"Calm down, I am unbinding her powers. Look at her! She wasn't able to defend herself and she almost died." My grandmother looked at me. "I felt your pain and rushed here. You need your magic or you won't survive this war. When you came to see me I thought you could make the choice to receive your powers once more but you didn't and I couldn't risk your life anymore. You are the future, Grace, so start acting like it."
"I feel tingly..." I said. I was pretty sure I was going to either throw up or pass out.
Darren looked at me again the let go of my face. He picked me up off of the stool and started walking out of the kitchen.
"Stop!" my grandmother yelled after him. "She is about to contract a nasty fever as her body adjusts. She needs to get into some water."
As soon as my grandmother said it I could feel my body starting to heat up. I involuntarily started shivering and Darren took a sharp left to a door that led outside.
I had never been in the backyard but it looked like any other. There wasn't a fence, just a small yard then nothing but forest. A huge swimming pool rested in the middle of the yard and that was Darren's destination.
Darren came to the steps and eased both of us, fully clothed, into the water.
"Darren..." I breathed as my body hit the water. Steam came off of my body as the cool water surrounded me. My teeth started to chatter and I could feel the tingling get worse. It felt as though needles were not puncturing me, I whimpered in pain.
"Shh..you'll be okay." Darren reassured me. He bent at the knee so I could be consumed to the chest with the water.
Everyone gathered outside around the pool, watching us. Jack looked concern where my grandmother looked almost expectant.
The water around us started to gently swirl, I knew I was doing it but I could stop it.
The water was getting more violent by the second and I looked into Darren's eyes. He looked scared but determined to make sure I would be okay.
"Don't let go." I whispered.
"Never." He replied.
That is when I let the tingly build up inside of me go.
