Chapter 13
I woke up alone in a bed that felt too cold now that Darren wasn't in it. I was very disappointed but I knew he probably wouldn't have stayed.
I tugged on the tshirt I had put on last night, it engulfed me and I assumed it was Darren's. Unfortunately nothing happened but as I started to drift off while cuddling Darren, I started moving around too much due to my constricted jeans.
Noticing my movements, Darren had reached for my jean buttons! I sat up and freaked so he went to get me a tshirt, mumbling how he was just trying to help and maybe if I got laid I wouldn't be so uptight. I know he was joking but I wondered why guys couldn't always be sweet and cuddly.
I found my jeans and slipped them on. I went into the adjoining bathroom that matched the same old timey grandma room and looked in the mirror. My large brown eyes were slightly sunken in, probably due to the annoying werewolves I have been forced to me around lately. My dark hair looked like a rats nest, so I smoothed it down and threw it up in a ponytail.
Satisfied with my appearance, I slipped on my shoes and very quietly left the room. I snuck down the hallway and stopped at the top of the stairs. I didn't hear anyone moving about so I creeped down the stairs, careful of any squeaky steps. Once at the bottom I listened again but was met with nothing but silence.
I put my hand on the front door knob ready for a large, male hand to stop me but still nothing. How odd, it's like they wanted me to escape just so Darren can yell at me later.
Oh well, I needed to get to my apartment and shower. Plus, I have a mountain high pile of homework due before Monday that no one but me seems to be concerned about.
Opening the door, I slipped out and shut it quietly. I jogged across the yard and into the street. School wasn't far away which meant the Main Street wasn't far either. I made it to the campus in no time at all and headed to the one bus stop in the middle of campus.
Campus was deserted, mainly because it was Sunday, but I couldn't help the feeling I was being watched. I shook that feeling and sat down on the bench. My phone was still at my apartment and I suddenly missed it sitting on this bench alone. There was really nothing to do but kick the dirt, so that's what I started doing.
"Hello there." I heard a manly voice say.
I looked up, holding my hand up against the sun. He wasn't that tall, maybe five foot ten and had a shaved head that made him really sinister looking. His skin was taunt and a little sweaty. If I had to guess what a killer looked like, he was definitely it. From his black shirt, black pants and velcroed black shoes.
I shifted in my seat, leaving Darren's was now seeming like a bad idea. I hate that he was right.
I remained silent so the man kept going, "It doesn't look like the bus will be coming any time soon, do you need a ride?"
"No thanks." I replied. I scooted further away from him. Alarms were going off in the back of my mind.
He smiled and it reminded me of a wolf. Was he one?
He sat down close to me and I smelled cigarettes on his breath.
"Oh come on, someone as pretty as you shouldn't be alone. They shouldn't have left you alone..."
I looked at him in horror. Shit! I was going to be eaten! I moved to get up and he out a hand on my arm.
"Don't even think...." He started. Right then a group of students burst out of a nearby building and headed straight for us. It's a miracle! Sunday studiers!
I continued to stand and yelled at one of the students that I was drawn to.
"Tasha! Hey, can you give me a ride?" I didn't know who the girl was but she could tell what was going on.
"Sure, come on." She said immediately. Her red hair whipping around her face with the sudden wind.
"Great." I said stepping away from Mr.Creepy.
"See you later." He sneered and I felt the threat trickle down my spine.
I raced toward the students and followed 'Tasha' to freedom.

"What's your name?" I asked the girl. I had a tingling feeling walking near her, I couldn't explain it but I felt like I could trust her.
"Cara. You?" she asked.
"Grace. I think you just saved my life."
"Really?" She looked at me with a shocked expression.
"You have know idea. Can you really give me a ride though? I'll pay you gas money."
"Sure. Where do you live?"
"West Gate." I said.
We had walked through the student parking lot and stopped at a Prius.
"This yours?" I asked.
"Yes. Isn't she pretty?" Cara smiled at her car in appreciation.
"Yeah, sure, save the planet and all that." I threw a fist in the air for effect.
Cara laughed, "You're funny, hop in."
I did as I was told and we drove off to my apartment. Hopefully we were leaving my almost bad situation in the dust.
