Chapter 10
Jack sped the whole way to Darren's house. He didn't speak a word to me and I bet it was because he was about to get chewed out. Not literally I didn't think...
As we passed the University, I could feel Darren calm down a little. He knew I was close through our bond I'm assuming.
"He knows we are close." I told Jack.
Jack just nodded and remained silent. Geez, I felt like I was surrounded by nothing but females.
Jack pulled up to the familiar mansion I ran away from the night before. It looked even more surreal when it wasn't so dark outside. It was a two story brick house with Ivey covering most of it and white shutters. Pretty traditional but I couldn't help but love it. Even though I would never admit that to anyone. Ever.
I hoped out of the car and started walking towards the front door. I knew Darren would sense me here. As if right on cue, Darren yanked open the front door.
"Where have you been?" he growled.
"Grandmother's remember?" I said moving past him in the doorway. I walked all the way to the back of the house where the kitchen was and I could feel Darren behind me.
He grabbed my arm and pulled me against him. Sparks of pleasure shot up my arm and where our torsos touched. I almost swooned from the contact but I wouldn't give him the satisfaction.
"Let go!" I yelled and tried to wiggle out of his grasp.
Darren held on tighter and a deep growl started in his chest.
"You are MINE! When I say come home you come home understand? And as for you," Darren turned to Jack who was just now entering the kitchen. "Don't you ever pull a stunt like you did today! When I call you, you better answer!"
I pushed at Darren's chest so I could look him in the face.
"It was my fault! I threw Jack's phone out of the window so we wouldn't have to deal with you ordering him to turn around, which we all know you would have! I needed to see my grandmother and we did. So calm down and act grown!" I yelled at Darren. He really was getting on my last nerve.
Darren looked down into my eyes and just stared. I don't know what it is about his grey eyes but I was seriously going to have to get these emotions under control quick.
My breaths started coming out ragged and my heartbeat increased. I felt Darren squeeze his arms tighter around me, making sure I didn't go anywhere.
I couldn't do this....i couldn't let him just have me and win! I started to wiggle out of his grasp and gave out a small growl myself.
"Let go! You're suffocating me!" I yelled
Darren bent down and whispered in my ear, "Did you just growl at me?"
All I could do was nod because his closeness was doing strange things to me. My body was on fire and I had no control over it.
"I wouldn't growl if I were you if you want to remain clothed." Darren pulled back so he could look into my eyes once more.
I knew Jack heard what he said which made me blush profusely. Darren really had no manners. He suddenly let go of me and turned to Jack.
"Get a new phone, got it?" Darren rudely demanded.
Jack just nodded and Darren walked off to who knows where. I sighed, I wanted nothing more than for his threat towards me to be real but if I gave in now then I wouldn't stand for anything. No, Darren would have to work for this and it is going to be so fun making him do so.
