He pulls the barn door open and I mentally sigh. There's some trees but there's mostly flat land. If I ran away he surly would shift and catch me quickly. I need to find a way to get this stupid anklet off if I plan on escaping.
"Come on boy." He says grabbing my arm roughly.
"You know I have a name." I say ripping my arm from his grasp.
He takes two steps back and takes a deep breath, "Warning one. Walk boy."
I roll my eyes and I decide to keep walking. Lets not anger a wolf who can easily dominate me. Good plan Jasper, lets stick to it.
Almost two minutes later we are out front of a pretty blue farm house. One girl and two boys all around my age walk out to greet us.
The girl has short black hair that reaches about her shoulder and light blue eyes. The first boy has short curly blonde hair and dark blue eyes and the second boy has short dark brown hair and light brown eyes. None of them are wolves, they're all humans.
"Welcome back sir!" They say at the exact same time.
The girl won't make eye contact with Bosko, her eyes are trained on the ground.
Bosko smiles, "Thank you, guys meet Jasper. He's the newest edition to the family."
Both the boys smile kindly at me but the girl looks up with sad eyes before looking back down at the ground.
He pushes me towards them, "Drake teach him the rules and show him where he will be sleeping."
The boy with the brown hair nods and motions for me to follow him. I nibble on my lip for a moment before deciding to follow him. I rather be inside, my feet hurt from walking.
Drake walks up to the house and opens the door waiting for me to enter. I climb the steps and I enter the house.
I mentally laugh, this is exactly what I imagined the inside to look like. Fluffy looking couch with throw pillows that say home and love, a glass fireplace that's currently lit, lots of pictures on the walls, and white carpet.
The other boy and the girl walk in behind us.
Drake sighs and sits down on the couch, "Okay he's the rules because I have stuff I need to do so listen closely. Rule one, cursing isn't tolerated, you get a strike if you curse. Rule two, our room is to be spotless at all times. Rule three, chores are to be done by noon or no one gets fed the rest of the day. Rule four, no saying no, that gets you a strike."
I raise my eyebrow, "Whats a strike? Bosko said I had one."
The other boy leans against the wall, "Damn that sucks for you. You really don't want to know what happens after three strikes."
I shrug and I yawn, "Anything else? I'm quite bored standing here."
The girl behind me giggles which makes both the boys clench their fists. I'm guessing they both want to be with her and me being the shirtless hottie in the room. I'm a threat. Don't worry boys, I'm already taken by Ja-. My stomach begins turning, how long has it been since Jada died?
I turn around smiling, "I'm Jasper and you are?"
The girl smiles and holds her hand out, "Zada."
All of a sudden I need to vomit.
I close my mouth as tight as I can and I run outside. I vomit twice before my stomach is empty. Maybe I heard her wrong or maybe the fucking gods aren't on my side. Her name can't be Zada.
When I turn around everyone is standing there, even Bosko.
I wipe my lip, "Sorry, probably not the best first impression."
She smiles, "As I was saying, my name is Zayla."
Thank god I didn't hear it right.
The other boy nods, "I'm Mason."
I clench my chest, "That's nice. Nice to meet you both."
Who knew vomiting would hurt your broken rib.
All of a sudden I become very dizzy. I fall to the ground clenching my chest. Please don't have an anxiety attack. My heart begins pounding and I can barley breath.
Just my fucking luck today.
