I groaned as I looked into the half-empty bowl of cereal. Truthfully, dying in my dreams was looking fine and dandy at this point. I was so tired. I took another bite. As I chewed slowly, Kakashi walked in with Sakura.
"Wait right here; I need to get something, then we can go train." He told her, motioning for her to stay put at the entrance a few feet away from me.
As he walked off, she noticed me and looked panicked. "Oh my god, are you okay?" She asked me, worried.
I gazed at her, half awake. "Sure," I grumbled.
Kakashi walked back in and looked between us. In half a second, Sakura went from worried to pissed and turned to Kakashi.
"What the heck, Kakashi? You are not taking care of her!?" She yelled at him.
I sighed loudly and let my head slam into the table. "Shhhh. So loud." I whined.
She marched over to me and yanked my head up, gazing at me. "Your sleep deprived. When was the last time you slept?" She demanded, and I started to check my pulse.
Kakashi looked shocked and worried. He looked at me and seemed to be taking in my condition.
I shrugged. "I blink. Those are like naps." I joked. She slammed her fist down, and I rolled my eyes. "It's been since we got back." I told her and got up, laying my bowl on the counter. My vision was loopy.
Sakura crossed her arms, turning to Kakashi and saying, "Don't train me until she is taken care of." She then left, slamming the door.
I stared after her, dazed. "Can't she be even a little less loud?" I complained as I turned to Kakashi, who was crossing his arms.
He looked mad. "You haven't been sleeping?!" He said it in disbelief.
I glared at him and yawned. "Trust me. I wish I could." I said I was going to walk past him.
He grabbed my arm, pulling me in front of him. I lost my footing and kind of just ran into the wall.
I groaned and straightened up, staring up at him. " w-what?" I asked, feeling tired yet still scared of him. Not in the sense that he is going to kill me; he is just... scary when he is angry.
He groaned, "Why can't you sleep?" He asked it, glaring down at me.
I tried to yank out of his grip, but that wasn't happening ever. I gave up and stayed silent.
He closed his eyes, let a breath out, and then released me. "I'm upset because you're putting yourself at risk. You should sleep; you are not like me and you are not like them, but you are still mortal and can still die." He told me with a painful expression.
I looked up at him, then down. "I'm afraid to sleep." I whispered and walked past him. "But I'll do it if it makes you feel better." I said it, closing my door swiftly.
I leaned against it. I thought about it. If it happened like it had before, I'd die, but if I'm lucky, Kakashi will wake me again. I pushed off the door and walked over to my bed, collapsing onto it.
I fell asleep within one minute.
----
My eyes flew open, and I sat up in the same forest as before, in the same spot. I got to my feet and looked around. I better stay put.
I stayed alert and ready. What was I going to do anyway? I wasn't going to be able to defend myself much. I let a panicked breath out.
"Oh, look here. The mortal has returned. I guess you had to go to sleep at some point." Rose said it from the shadows of the forest.
