Linda woke up to darkness. It was a congenial sort of darkness. She sighed into it. Trying to pull it closer and disappear into its coziness. Surprisingly it came closer. The smell of buttery popcorn wafted through the air. She breathed it in, enjoying the scent. Her hands were fit perfectly into a soft curve. And around her silence was suspended. A comfortable silence. Soon her lips were met with something soft. Her taste buds bursting due to the freshness and addictive flavor of butter. Her senses exploded. She licked her lips as the sensation left. Wanting it to last for a little longer. The silence was disrupted by a sigh. And her eyes shot open again. Her face had been buried in Jime's hair, but now their positions had changed. Their lips were millimeters apart and Jime was leaning in again.
"It wouldn't hurt to wake up every morning like this," Linda mumbled, tightening her grip around Jime's hips, "Did you brush already?"
"Yup," Jime grinned, "But you looked so cute while you were sleeping, pouting and mumbling something occasionally so I couldn't help but come back and wrap my arms around you."
"Aww but I have morning breath," Linda groaned.
"You still taste heavenly," she smirked, pecking Linda's lips once more.
"I would love to do this forever but I got to get rid of my breath and take a shower."
"Kay, be quick, it's going to be way too awkward with your roommate."
"Haha, I don't think she's that bad."
"Well I respect your taste in women, I mean look at me, so I guess she should be fine..."
"Big headed..." Linda said, rolling her eyes.
"Oh but it's so true baby."
"I like that."
"You like what?" Jime's smirk grew a little more.
"Nothing," Linda mumbled, shaking her head and rushing into the bathroom. She could here Jimena's laughter as she did so.
As she brushed her teeth, she realized something. An accomplishment. When she had woken up, she hadn't thought about her. She hadn't been the first thing in her mind as per usual. Her mind had been clear. And she hadn't been crying. She hadn't woken up with a tear stained pillow after watching her love die again in her dreams. She hadn't forgotten... she just hadn't remembered.
She walked out of the bathroom, drying her hair with a towel... she hated hair dryers... when she heard shouting.
She rushed to the kitchen and her worried expression turned into an amused one.
"Get out of my face!"
"But... but I didn't do anythinggg," Jimena whined, trying to give Amia a hug.
"Dude, simple words: leave me ALONE."
"Just one hug... please..." Jime asked with puppy eyes, which melted Linda but Amia seemed unaffected. Linda snorted... straight people.
"No!"
"Is it because... I'm lesbian."
Now Linda's smile turned into a frown. An awkward silence filled the air, anticipation weighing it down, if that was the case they might have a problem.
"No... no... not at all," Amia muttered looking down.
"Then a hug shouldn't hurt," Jime said moving closer.
"Enough Jime, leave the girl alone."
"Ooh babe, I didn't see you there," Jime said, walking towards Linda and slinging an arm over her shoulder.
