"I have only one question," Linda started, her voice without expression, "Why are you so desperate to ruin my life?"

"I...I... I'm sorry. I didn't know that you'd date her out of everyone. I didn't even know that she was gay. Gods I didn't even know that she was in L.A."

"Wow, I have an amazing mom," Jimena said, coming up from behind, putting her hand on Linda's shoulder.

"Look, Jimena..."

"Don't!"

"I just... I was young..."

"I know, 'it was a mistake'. IT. ME."

"No, it is like that isn't it. Linda told me who you are. She explained that you adopted Haley. That means that you would rather raise someone else's daughter than your own. You left me and my dad, in the mercy of my step mom. I don't understand how your brain works... Kira," she sneered, "I was like all the other single parented children when I was young. I wished that the other would come back. That the other would love me. And now, you are right in front of me and it is taking me all my will power to keep myself from slapping you. Not only have you scarred me but you've affected my girlfriend as well. I never thought a kid could really hate their mother, no matter what, until now."

Kira looked at her distraught.

"Does Jordan even know?"

"No."

"Oh wow. And he already has trust issues. Were you ever planning on telling him? And when did this happen? Did you cheat on him? How could you?" Linda still held it against Jordan for screaming at Haley and mistreating her for all those years, but she'd known him since she was nine. He'd been like a second father to her on his good days.

"I DID NOT CHEAT ON JORDAN!"

"Do not yell in my home. You have no right to come in here and then shout at me. You shall speak calmly or you shall get out."

Kira looked at Linda with fury ablaze in her blue eyes, Linda met the rage with her own gaze. Her gaze held not only anger but agony and melancholy. It held hate. Pure black hate that had been sculpted by a black steel knife over the years, a knife called betrayal. They met in the middle. But Linda's held more ferocity. She over powered Kira. So Kira finally gave in and started to explain.

"I loved Jordan... but then he... he left..."

Once she finished the story, Linda still had the same amount of bitterness left in her. Her explanation was no justification for her mistakes. How much ever she wanted to hit her or push her out of her dorm, Linda remained calm. She was Haley's mother. She wasn't Jimena's mother, she had no right to call herself that. But she was Haley's mother. And Haley had adored her. So she held back.

"The woman with blue eyes."

"Dad," Juan broke out of his trance, the realisation finally sinking in, "Meet the woman who killed your wife."

Kira looked at Juan, "I'm sorry... I don't understand?"

"He's my father. He's the husband of the woman you killed. You murderer. You heartless demon! You cold blooded monster! I HATE YOU."

Kira stepped back.

"No, No, NO. I didn't kill her on purpose. No please don't think that. I already explained it to you. The brakes. Everything. No please," she begged.

Linda looked at the faces of the people she loved in that room. And she made the decision that had to be made.

"Get out Kira. And don't ever come back. I hope I never see you again."
