Caitlin let herself into Barry's dorm room with the spare key that he had given her the other day and placed her bag on the floor and sat down on his bed taking out her textbook and began to read the pages she had been assigned to read by her lecturer.
She also had a big essay to write on the pages so after finishing the three pages with information on cystic fibrosis, Alzheimer's and muscular dystrophy. It would take a long time to write and she knew she wanted to get through as much of it as she could tonight at the expense of how much quality time she would be able to spend with Barry. But sometimes you just have to make sacrifices.
Not long after she arrived, Barry walked through the door and smiled when he saw her lying on her stomach on the bed with her laptop on the bed in front of her, textbook open as she typed furiously. It was an adorable sight.
"Hey beautiful," he greeted, walking towards her and pecking her lips before sitting down cross-legged behind her.
"Hey, sweetheart," she replied, sitting up to wrap her arms around him for a tight embrace. She had missed him even though they woke up together this morning. She spent most of her time here as he didn't have a roommate so it was more ideal for the both of them. He even had a drawer with her things in it so she didn't have to keep on going back to her room all the time. It was like they lived together.
They woke up together. Got ready together. Their toothbrushes were right next to each other. They ate together. They left together. Came back here. Either stayed together all day or went out on a date together. Came back together. Went to sleep together. they were always together.
"So, Cait. There's this beach party that everyone at the university is invited to. Basically, everyone goes to the beach and there is a massive party and there are music and dancing and a band and sailing boats and all the other's are going and what I'm trying to say is will you go with me? We don't have to but everyone else is and..." he was interrupted by her pressing her lips to his.
"Of course, I want to go. When is it?" she mumbled.
"Tomorrow night. It's only like half an hour drive there. It's a Friday night so you don't have to worry about schoolwork," he replied.
"Okay. Then it's a date," she smiled and pecked his lips once again before returning to her laptop.
...
Hours passed and Caitlin was still busy typing while Barry just sat and watched her in awe of her flawless work ethic.
He heard her wince in pain then roll her shoulder back.
"Cait, Cait, Cait. Stop, you are in pain," he stopped her, prying her hands from her keyboard and leaving them at her sides before moving his own hands to her shoulders to massage the pain away.
At first, it felt a little strange but after a few seconds the pain of her shoulder was numbing and she started to feel really relaxed as her body stopped being so tense.
"There you go, just relax," he whispered in her ear and she closed her eyes.
"Woah, you are really good at that. Like really, really good," she mumbled opening her eyes after he finished feeling really good and relaxed.
"You work yourself so hard. You need to learn how to relax, okay. Just take a deep breath and take a break. I want to kiss you for a little while before you go all workaholic on me again," he replied, leaning in to kiss her and she tilted her head to give herself better access to his lips considering he was sitting behind her.
...
The next day, Caitlin as frantically trying to find some swimwear. When she packed her stuff to move here, she never realized that she would need anything like that and when she had accepted Barry's request to be his date she had forgotten her fact.
