"Okay, where are you taking me, Barry Allen?" Caitlin asked as the two of them walked down the streets of Central City. They had spent the whole day together so far and now Caitlin had no idea where her newfound companion was leading her. To be fair, she was easily lost in this huge city, she was still getting used to it all.
"You'll see," Barry replied with a teasing grin that warmed her heart. They had been walking for a while now and she had lost track completely on how many blocks they had passed. It didn't help that there were large crowds of people surrounding them at every turn, it made her rather nervous. But Barry didn't seem to be fazed by it. As they passed through another claustrophobic group of people, Caitlin grasped his hand tightly.
The touch of her hand was like a jolt of electricity accompanied by the butterflies that fluttered in his stomach and heart. Barry had no idea why but it just happened. His feelings towards her were unlike anything he had ever felt before and honestly they were quite daunting. He had no idea what he was feeling or how to class how he felt for her and really needed someone to give him the answer.
"It's not too much further. Only a couple blocks, I promise," he stated after calming down his racing heartbeat from her simple action. An action that really shouldn't affect him this way, this strongly.
A couple minutes later, Barry drew to an abrupt halt outside a building and Caitlin had to catch her footing to not fall over. Embarrassingly, she looked back up at him blushing profusely and he tried to stifle the laugh that threatened to escape. It didn't take long for his attempts to fail and she just rolled her eyes and shook her head before looking at the building they had stopped at.
"Paintballing?"
"Yeah, I used to come here all the time as a kid and my friends and I still come here often. I can't let you live in Central City without coming here," he replied.
"I've never been paintballing before," she commented and he just looked at her in disbelief. "Well, I just never had the time but this will be fun. I will totally kick your ass," she raised her eyebrows teasingly and a smirk appeared on her lips as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"We'll see about that, Miss Snow, I happen to be a champion at this. There is no way in hell you're beating me. And don't think I'm going easy on you just because it's your first time," he teased right back.
"I wouldn't have it any other way, Mr. Allen. Then you can't use that as an excuse when I beat you," she replied, pursing her lips with a twinkle in her eye. Honestly, Barry found her competitive behavior adorable, it was another adorable thing about her that he can add to his list. It was becoming quite long now.
After paying for their tickets, they went to change into the camouflage gear and grabbed their weapons. They were on opposite teams and they both hoped to find each other so they can prove who is better once and for all.
Soon the competition began, and within the first five minutes Caitlin had successfully shot six people on the other team without being shot herself once, it seemed she was quite the natural at this.
'Eat your words, Allen' Caitlin thought to herself as she spotted him only about ten metres away. She took cover behind a tree and aimed at him. It seemed that she had the perfect shot and he didn't even know she was there.
She pulled the trigger and as if he knew that the paint was being hurled towards him he jumped out the way and into a bush. Now she couldn't see him at all.
While aiming her shot, she had noticed that just like her he had no paint on him. No one spec. He was right, he was good at this.
Caitlin desperately tried to spot him but she couldn't. Now that he knew that someone was there it was only a matter of time before he found her.
