Two Years Later
There she was, Caitlin Snow, walking down a non-existent aisle which was really just sand on a beach in The Bahamas in a beautiful white dress holding a bouquet of island flowers. Barry was waiting for her at the other end and she took his breath away at the sight of her.
The sun was setting over the water and a minister was waiting for them to wed them. The couple had only graduated from college a week ago and had come here for the first destination of their world tour. They only touched down on the island this morning and when they checked into the hotel the staff had booked them into the honeymoon suite free of charge and offered to marry them if they wished and they couldn't help but say yes. Not to mention that it would be a free, intimate and romantic wedding for the two of them. They knew that their family and friends would be pretty mad that they decided to get married without telling them first and not allowing them to be there to attend but they wanted to be married so badly that they could not wait any longer.
This evening they were to be bound together in body, soul, spirit and mind in holy matrimony from this day forward. Forever.
"We ae gathered here today to celebrate the union of this man and this woman. Do you, Bartholomew Henry Allen take Caitlin Marie Snow to be your lawfully wedded wife?" the minister began when Caitlin stopped in front of her and joined hands with Barry after placing the bouquet to the side.
"I do," he replied.
"And do you Caitlin Marie Snow take Bartholomew Henry Allen to be your lawfully wedded husband?" the minister asked her.
"I do," Caitlin replied, gazing into his eyes deeply.
"Now please declare your marriage vows that you have prepared for each other, Mr. Allen,"
"Cait, I love you with all my heart. The last three years we have spent together have been the best of my life and I never wish to be parted from you from this day forward. I take you to best my best friend, my faithful partner, and my one true love. I promise to support and encourage you even when you don't believe in yourself, inspire you and to love you truly through good times and bad. I will protect you and when I can't do that I shall stand beside you. Remind you of my love for you every single day of our lives. I will forever be there to laugh with you, to lift you up when you are down and to love you unconditionally through all of our adventures in life together. I choose you. And I would choose you in a hundred lifetimes, in a hundred worlds in any version of reality. I'd find you and I'd choose you," Barry vowed softly, only talking to her as if there was no one else in the world except for them so caught up in this moment.
"Miss Snow,"
Caitlin wiped away a couple tears before starting. "Barry, I feel like everything in my life has led me to you. My choices, my heartbreaks, my regrets. Everything. And when we're together it makes my past seem worth it. Because if I had done one thing differently, I might not have met you. Today seems like the start of a whole new journey, but I already belong to you. It feels like we're finally going home. And you... You have brought warmth when there was cold, light when my life was dark. I pledge to be yours and forever yours from this day forward, to be your wife. I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; so I love you because I know no other way than this: where I do not exist, nor you, so close that your hand on my chest is my hand, so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep. I promise to be forever your wife from today onwards without doubt or any second thought," she vowed, tears in both of their eyes.
They were handed their wedding rings.
"I give you this ring as a symbol of my love for you so you can wear it and think of me," they both said as they slipped the rings on their fingers. Caitlin glanced at the engagement ring that had only been placed there about three hours previously.
