~Jaide's Point of view~

My mom decided to take Cyrine and her brother in our house given the current circumstances. Plus, Cyrine is like family to us anyway. Her brother.... well... let's just say I don't know much about him.

We arrived home after watching the stars. We were tired that night, so we immediately went to bed.

I took the couch, there was no way I'd let her sleep uncomfortably. And her older brother slept in a sleeping bag in the living room, where I was.

After all that transpired, it would be an understatement to say that I was glad the day was over.

//Next Day//

I always wake up earlier than everyone in the house, so it surprised me to see Cyrine's brother walking about the house as soon as I opened my eyes.

I shifted a bit on the couch, trying to get myself up, but I was so damn tired, my mind was begging me to just go back to sleep.

Nope, these people need food later... I thought.

I shut up my conscious and got up, still feeling half asleep.

"Morning." Cyrine's brother said in a husky voice.

He stood in front of me, probably noticed me getting up.

He had a tall, lean, and muscular body with fair skin, wearing nothing but a black tank top and sporty shorts. His long brown hair was wavy from his sleep.

"Oh, hey." I say sheepishly, "What's your name again?"

He brushed his hair from his face. "My name's Navi, and yours?"

"Jaide." I replied simply.

"Jaide? Kind of a feminine name..." He teased, a grin formed on his features.

What's that supposed to mean?

I rubbed the back of my head with a sheepish smile.

"Yeah, well.... what are you gonna do, right?"

He silently gazed at me with ocean blue eyes, not saying a word. I quickly found myself studying the floor to ignore his stare.

"You wanna eat?" He asked.

When he said that, I realized a strong smell coming from the kitchen.

"Navi, ...Did you cook for us?"

"I guess you could say that, I was only entertaining myself, cooking is just a hobby of mine." He said nonchalantly.

I walked towards the kitchen, and saw an abundance of what seemed like a brunch.

Quiche, Pancakes, French fries, Sorted fruits, and Shrimp.... all displayed nicely on mom's glass trays.

"Where did you find time to cook all of this?" I asked, amazed.

"I just got up super early; I don't sleep much."

I nodded as I picked up a fruit. "I see..."

"Well, eat already, before it gets cold." He suggested.

"Don't have to tell me twice." I mumbled to myself with a grin.

I grabbed a glass plate from a near cabinet and started filling my plate, avoiding the shrimp.

I sat down and ate, I wasn't about to wait on anyone.

His cooking was stunningly excellent, I could eat this every day.
