The first thing my mom made clear as soon as the next morning arrived was that I'm grounded. I can't blame her of course, she must have been worried sick waiting for me that long... Even a few police officers came by this morning just to check if I got home.

Navi wasn't in the clear either, he was scolded by my mom for picking me up and not telling her.

But the hard part hasn't happened yet... Because Cyrine is still asleep, and has yet to unleash her wrath on the both of us.

It's only 8:00 A.M, and I didn't really have the motivation to do anything today.... I mean, I just wanna keep lying on this couch and watch the ceiling fan spin by.

I'm technically supposed to be a Senior at the beginning of my upcoming school year... I should be focused on a future like that, not a future of what mythological creature I'll stumble upon next...

I felt my ring pulsate. Something's up with Letonin it seems... But I have to admit, I'm uncomfortable at how he behaved yesterday, and I'm scared if what he said was the truth. That Cyrine is... a...

"You!" I hear Cyrine's voice behind me, followed by a karate chop to my head.

"Morning." I greeted in a pretentious tone, totally unfazed.

"You're gonna spill your guts to me, why the hell did you get here so late?"

Suddenly the voice of my mother sounded way too familiar...

"I took the bus to Limbach Park to spend some time there."

"With who?" She persisted.

"No one!" I lied.

Her eyes pierced through mine, there's no lying to her.

"Wait a minute, you did?" I heard Navi say as he entered the living room. "I don't think he did Cyrine... Are you sure?"

Cyrine looked at him, glassy eyed. "Am I sure....? No.... it can't be, what in the world am I thinking? Jaide never did that."

"Jaide never did what?" I heard my mom's voice as she entered the kitchen soon after.

"Jaide never left the house yesterday, and we were all here spending time with one another." Navi looked at my mom right in the eyes, not averting his gaze.

"Yeah.... you're right, of course.." My mom agreed. I looked at Navi like he was crazy.

So that's it huh? Perception manipulation...

I hate lying... even if it's dangerous for us to know the truth...

The rough winds blew vigourously upon my body.

Man... bad weather up here this year, huh?

I didn't think Mount Everest was going to stay so similar...

I took a breath, and sat down upon it's peak, getting a vape out of my pocket to use it.

I took a glance at my hand, and punched the mountain with it, feeling my impact reverberate throughout Everest's horizon.

God... I'm so stupid.... I could've handled yesterday so much better than I did...

Jaide is most likely not too happy with me... And I have no clue how to make amends for my behavior. I love him so much, and I don't want to let him go... But he might want to let me loose after that...
