-"You know, the mask you wear around me hardly shields the look of lust you show in your eyes when they meet mine."

~Jaide's Point of view~

"Jaide, did your mom by any chance say she was going to the pet store while we're gone?" Navi said, looking slightly uneasy.

"Really Navi?" Cyrine sassed.

"No, of course not..." I answered.

The cat just stayed there, on the couch, staring at us.

Cyrine tried to approach it cautiously, only to earn herself more distance away from it.

Come on now...

It doesn't seem to be hostile, but I never know.

The cat carelessly stepped towards Navi and gently laid its body at his feet.

"Seems to like you Navi." I said.

He looked at me with annoyance, and picked up the cat, cradling it in his arms.

The cat attempted to gently paw at his face, meowing.

"Is anyone allergic?" Navi asked.

Both of us shook our heads.

"Mom isn't allergic either." I added.

"But how the hell did it get in here?" Cyrine chimed in.

"Beats me, why not just keep it since it went through all the trouble?" I asked.

The only response given was a scoff from Cyrine as her footsteps to her room echoed in the living room.

The cat purred, resting before Navi's feet.

He glared at it and rolled his eyes.

"Is your mom going to be okay with it?"

"It shouldn't be a problem, she loves pets." I answered.

"Who loves pets?" I heard my mom say, as she makes her way to the living room.

"Apparently you do." Navi deadpanned, letting himself out.

I really need to understand that guy better, he has issues...

My mom knelt down, trying to get the cats attention.

"What are you going to call it?" She asked.

"I was thinking... Crista"

Her eyebrows furrowed. "Crista? Kind of an odd name for a male cat."

"What? No, I love it." I said, smiling.

"What made you come up with something like that?" She asked.

Actually, a 'who' not a what...

"Well, Crista... its Latin, for Crest." I said.

"Ah... I see... because of the fur, right? I've never seen anything like it." She says.

"Exactly." I confirmed.

And she was right, Crista's fur had a platinum look to it, along with its stunning blue eyes. Makes me wonder if there's more where he came from.

"Don't you guys think there might be an owner out there looking for it?" Navi inquired, sipping a cup of Starbucks near the counter.

My heart almost dropped at the thought of losing it already.

"Well, I don't see a collar or anything so I say it doesn't totally matter." I said quickly, trying to avoid the topic.

"Come on Crista, let's show you around." I said.
