ROCHELLE
He Gon' Learn Today

They say pregnancy gets easier with each time, better than the last; well whoever said that lied. I was five months gone and all I knew was the toilet bowl or bathroom sink. Continuously throwing up. It didn't help that I still had to be a full time mom to two overactive kids. I could give them water and they would bounce off the walls.

TJ was just a terror always antagonising Chelle and Chelle was just a tattletale. Of late I have had to keep them occupied in their rooms or only let one out a time as if they were pets needing freedom. I was constantly exhausted and because of everything that was going on with Tyrell and the family I rarely saw him.

This is exactly what I meant when I said I didn't want another child if Tyrell was going to be busy like this. I saw him once a week if I was lucky. And this was him temporarily covering for his father so what the hell would it be like when he officially takes over?

I had just got in from dropping the kids to school and decided to check my emails on my phone whilst I caught up with Scandal. Most of it was junk but I saw an email from the hospital. I had applied for a job there about six months ago. They got back to me offering me a midwifery position. I was so pissed off. I couldn't start because I was pregnant. I was happy to be having another baby don't get me wrong; but I refuse to do this alone. I called my mama and asked her for contact details she had for nannies she knew.

She was one herself but she was a mother first and an annoying one at that, so I couldn't ask her as a favour when that was her income. As I got off the phone to her, Tyrell walked in with Antwan.

"Hey baby." He said.

"Hey." I said dryly.

"Hey Roch." Antwan said.

"Hey." I repeated.

"What's wrong?" Tyrell asked.

"Nothing." I said bluntly.

"Don't lie to me." He responded.

"If you know something is wrong, why you gotta ask?" I asked getting annoyed.

"What the hell is wrong wit you. Yo face be looking all sour an' shit like you ain't in the mood so of course I'ma ask what's wrong."

"Whatever." I said as I continued reading the email. The salary was good and it's everything I always wanted.

I didn't even see when Tyrell came over but he snatched my phone out my hand.

"Gimme back my cell Tyrell."

"You got the job babe? That's good. Why ain't you smiling?" I snatched the phone back.

"Because smart ass. You knocked me up. I can't accept the job then go on maternity leave not long after, dummy." I stormed off to the room and he came after me.

"Babe there gon be more opportunities." He said taking hold of my arm.

"When? How? I'm a SINGLE, FULL TIME MOM. Yo ass ain't been here since when? This is how life gon be when you take over. I'm glad I got a taste of it now though. I'ma get me a nanny."

"Pssshhhh first of all ain't no part o' you single and secondly no you ain't." he said.

"Excuse you?" I said.

He actually made me stop and turn around.
"You heard me. No nanny."

"The fuck you mean no nanny Tyrell? TJ has basketball three days a week, two of those days Chelle has to be picked up the same time I gotta get him there for. They both gon be going different schools in different directions starting the same damn time! As Chelle gets older she gon be doin' after school activities too. Let's not forget this one on the way! I ain't no superhero, I damn sure ain't no robot. I want a life. You want me to be the stay-at-home-yes-sir-no-sir-three-bags-full-sir kinda wife but that ain't me, that ain't who you married and that damn sure ain't gon be me any time soon. So if I say we getting a nanny; we getting a nanny." I walked off back downstairs because he was pissing me off.
