ANTWAN
This Was Karma.

Today was Men's day. We do this once a month where we all get together and chill or go out. No women allowed. So it's me, my pops, Tyrell, Jayden, Reese, Maine, Kyle, D'jon and even West was with us today.

It was the week of my son's first birthday and we were having a big party for him. We were in the toy store cashing it up. It really was a good thing we all drove because damn! They were doing way too much. It looked like we bought out the whole damn store.

"You ready for the weekend, son?" My pops asked.

"Yeah I am. I ain't never really got to celebrate anything with him like being there during the pregnancy or even when he was born I was there... but I stayed away. So this right here... is big." I said smiling.

"I'm glad you are happy son. That's all I ever want for my family. Happiness."

As we walked out the store we saw a group of shawtys walk pass and they all kept looking back at us.

"Mmmmm, I'm finna grab me one hot chocolate over there." Kyle said before going over to them.

We just laughed. I remember when I would have ran over there, gamed 'em and got all their numbers. I wasn't about that life no more. I lost the love of my life because of things like that. I can truly say I learnt my lesson.

"Surprised you ain't run over there playa playa! You still hung up on Princess?" Reese asked.

"Maaannn I ain't hung up on shit. I just don't need alla that drama over there. That drama is the reason I ended up with Dae Dae's loud ass."

We all laughed.

"She's fine as hell though. Why you ain't wifed her up?" D'jon asked.

"Wife who up? Dae Dae? You don't wife the side chick man. Yeah she's fine. And yeah I been hitting it again. With two rubbers on..." Everyone laughed as I continued "...but she just ain't..."

"Princess." Tyrell said cutting in.

I kissed my teeth. It was the truth but I couldn't let them know that. It had been over a year now. I still missed her. The fact that I see her every Sunday don't help either. She be friend-zoning a nigga like she just met me the other day.

"Shut up man. Me and Princess are cool."

"Yeah right. So you mean to tell me if she came to you right now and said she wants you back, you would turn her down?" Maine asked.

"Am I gay? I told y'all we cool. Don't mean I wouldn't have her back as my woman." I responded.

"That's the point they tryna make son. It's not because of you why you and Princess ain't together. Because if you could have it that way you would. Princess is in control and as you messed up, she chose the friend route. You gotta run with it because you got no choice"

I frowned at my pops, it was as if he was trying to ruin my good mood.
Luckily Kyle made his way back over doing the nae nae, making us all laugh and forget what we were even talking about. We all jumped in our cars and headed off to the man cave at the family home.

As I drove I just thought about the past year of my life. Business was the only thing that was good and kept getting better. Pops had employed more people to do the dirty side of things so we would be in charge of the neighbourhoods. It made things easier especially with him continually mentioning his days to his retirement were being numbered.

After putting Dae Dae up in her own crib she proved to be a good mom and actually had a nice side to her.
Now a nigga has needs and a nigga can get lonely too. There were times when I would pop in to check on my mini me and I never tell Dae Dae when I'm coming because I got my own key; plus I wanna know if this good mom act ain't just when I'm around. So far it looks like it's all the time. Every time I be round she's cooking, cleaning or playing with JR. She always be doing something. Most times I be round she always got a plate of dinner ready for me and Lord knows I do love my food. She also stopped acting ratchet; turns out she was a real nice girl.
As I told the boys, I started fucking around with Dae Dae again. She just couldn't help herself.
